@OP: Err, do you know what steps you have taken before you installed the clean GTA 4? Because now you need to reinstall and remove any modded file (you might have updated the file via changing some units manually). See if it works. Don't worry, the RGSC and will be fine and your settings and savefile too.

If you bought it from a store then cation! You game may be of Patch 1.0.0.0 so be sure you update your game before playing. I don't know what errors or crashes will occur. I warned you...

People play GTA 4 for their story so complete the story and add mods, trainers, whatever you want but, don't come asking for help because multiple mods cause damage to the game. We would simply say remove the mods.

Also, don't triple post. Wait for anyone to post or help you.

You should go back to science class and learn what hte Placebo Effect means.

HAHA i knew it once i replaced the shaders from patch 1.0.4.0 i had NO missing textures NO pop ins i could play smooth for an hour with no missing things a buidling was a building no matter where i looked. There was only one problem the shadows didnt work but i will find something for that. So if anyone is out there who has car packs and has this problem google patch 1.0.4.0 and download it then run it and copy the shader files into ur directory voila no missing textures or pop in. I thought that patches were supposed to fix things? Lol anyway thank you for your replies i will test this for a couple of more hours and then i can confirm it 100% works smile.gif

EDIT mmm the textures load fine even after hours of playing BUT the shaders go through the objects im currently looking to fix this. Can anyone reply what files cause the 'clip trough objects' effect?

So what you did is to downgrade your patch to 1.0.4.0? How about the commandline.txt? Are you using it?

aha finnaly a reply biggrin.gif nope not using any commandlines and what i did to get the textures to load properly is this: i copy and pasted the shaders from patch 1.0.4.0 into my original 1.0.7.0 game the textures all load fine now only a couple of issues now : 1,the shadows dont load 2,the shaders go through objects
other then that it is all fine.Now i am trying to solve these two bugs i will come back and tell which files cause these bugs,OR if some guys here on the forum know which files to replace please reply.

So where do you copy the shaders from 1.0.4.0? hmm ._.

well as first you must be sure to agree that you will lose your shadows and the shaders will go through objects. Ok first you have to google GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0 and then download it, i downloaded it from filefront or something like that. Also MAKE SURE U HAVE A BACKUP! Because if u do it wrong u might no longer be able to play the game. First of all delete all of ur files in the directory and then run the .exe to run the patch it will automatically put all of the needed files in x:/program files/rockstar games/Grand theft auto IV . Then place the files in ur patch 1.0.4.0 folder then put the backup u made back in the grand theft auto IV folder and then afterwards put the shaders from patch 1.0.4.0 into grand theft auto IV/common/shaders then u will be able to play the game normally without pop ins
WARNING i am still busy with searching the files that will bring the shadows normally back and fix the shaders issue. Do this at ur own risk

Hello there guys i have returned biggrin.gif

I have fiddled more around and added the reservedapp 0 to my personal memrestrict an guess what? No more missing textures VERY little pop in. I still dont know why it worked on my system i have 32 bit and it is SUPPOSED to work only on 64 bit and rockstar said it wouldnt work on 32 bit. Well not from what i am experiencing , now i can FINALLY play the game with my mate's online cruising:D thanks for u guys..... replies.

Does that apply with the patch 1.0.4.0's shaders or it is on 1.0.7.0? If so, then where to add "reservedapp 0"? In the commandline.txt (with memrestrict)?

that is the truth!!! the only time i have found memrestrict to work and not disappear the textures (all my machines are unmodified gta/eflc files) was this Llano machine. memrestrict is/was a godsend, because i couldn't have gotten rid of the stuttering any other way. that is the good advice - uninstall the mods or stop complaining about sorry, unpredictable gameplay/textures.

@ op, if you modify a honda with hood scoops, lowered, big wheels, etc. most times the car depreciates like a rock! why? because of the modifications!

I do think commandline should work for most, it's a matter of finding the right number. My gfx card is 1500mb but only the 628mb memrestrict line truly has helped the texture glitch (it still appears sometimes).

well for me this commandline works perfect i aint gonna change it or touch it or anything , well sometimes when i spawn to much vehicles they disappear but i have modded like all cars except 2 LOL. This helped me biggrin.gif

So, you applied the "reservedapp 0" only in your commandline.txt in your game that is the version of 1.0.7.0?

yes strangely it did i sometimes have missing textures though but that is just because my game was running with many car mods and many spawned at that time in multiplayer lol. But i also made a 1.0.4.0 game and it has NO pop ins NO textures missing , still i didnt notice a great performance boost but that might just be my resource eating enb lol. Glad it is fixed for u biggrin.gif

Oh my. I got that stupid shuttering/disappearing textures thing again. I already add "-reservedapp 0". I still have disappearing textures and shuttering but it fixes. Still very annoying. I already reinstalled my game because I lost two files. ohwell. any more solutions?

hey im back. I finnaly got 64bit and 4GB of ram extra it SHOULD be fixed with this im not yet sure i am going to install the game again and check it out again biggrin.gif
