Hello.

So!
My problem is this. My GTA San Andreas wont start. when i "Start" the game (when i click the shortcut or .EXE) Nothing happens, okay the startup sequence runs for about a second and then it shuts off. No warnings, no pop-ups, completely nothing, it just shuts down.

I already tried reinstalling the game with removing everything related to the game from my computer. No avail.
I tried running as administrator. No avail.
I in fact tried the Compatibility mode(s), 256 screencolors only, the 640 x 480 resolution, remove themes, desktop compositing (or something like that, my windows is not in English) and display scaling as well. no avail.
I tried deleting the .set files. No avail.
I tried all of the updates, but none of them worked. angry.gif
Updating the video card is not the solution either, because the other one of them gets always corrupted when i update it (Mobile intel ® 4 series express chipset family)
I'm also trying to run the game with an original disk with the original disk drive.
Now.. there should be all...

My computer specs:

Operating system: Windows 7
Video/Graphics card: Mobile intel ® 4 series express chipset family & nVidia geoforce 9600M GT
Graphics memory: ??? (WTF is that?)
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU
RAM: 4,00 GT (2,96 GT useable)
( barf8bd.gif )

The game HAS ran before on my computer, so i know it meets the system requirements, although back then i had windows vista.. but no way in hell i'm decreasing my OP back to Vista again, coz' i think the game has ran on windows 7 few times as well.

That's it. let's hope i didn't forgot anything.

Thanks.

What about the Game itself?
Which Version did you buy?
When you installed it from the disc, are you playing with the Original DVD in the Drive?

Since you used to have it with Vista OS.
Take a look for a hidden file:
To Unhide Folders:
START > User > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options> Show Hidden files and Folders.

If you find it Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).
Reboot and try again.

That's OK. It shouldn't be there in Win7.
How about a 'Rollback' to a time previous to the day that your problem started?

Yeah, i guess that could be worth the try, but it's been pretty long time since the game actually worked. So i doubt there would be any recovery points all the way back then.
