Straight into the first ten or so missions. Get through all the tutorial stuff and unlock a handful of features, then if SOMEHOW I don't wanna continue with the story (which hasn't happened to me in GTA yet...I get sucked into the world) I'll f*ck some sh*t up.

Do the intro mission. Do the first mission. Do the second mission. Then do some free roam and exploration i really wish that the whole map is open from the start.

Nevermind the fact that knowing your environment is useful (if only in races and chases), cruising around a new area is always fun...unless it's Mafia (superslow cars) or GTA1 (immensely boring map).

but I would actually check out any new features that GTA4 Didnt have

then I would go to the mission, because the first few missions would probably introduce you to the new features of the game anyway

If i hold that game in my hands... i will turn wild, put it into my xbox 360 or ps3 whatever i will have than and just make the story, first mission or something like that and than i will cruse the city with a fast car and enjoy the nice LA Feeling.

Oh man, thats also a very good idea, i hope there are a lot of DLC's after the game has been released, i would be happy! I would pay for them, i don't care, GTA is the bomb! XD

I hope the traffic NPC's are now much better, not that they crash into you when you stop for a red-light... And when you turn your siren on on traffic lights, they move out of the way.....

I usually play the first string of missions - wait for a nice lull in the action before I go out to explore and freeroam... From there I will test the updated physics, the new features, vehicles, check out the new cheats.. have a whole bunch of fun...

I will either rampage in an area I know well or move around frequently, without getting to know a certain area too well, I like to feel like I'm in foreign territory when going through the story.

If there is no necessary mission at the very start, I'll probably try to get as much air as possible to see the city from above. If there are heli rides in this game, I'll try to do that first.

Go exploring, find some gun go in police station, run from police, die, use some airplane fly over city, try what i can destroy then find some dog and walk him and then attack policeman with dog, go in train on other part of map, in desert see is there any horse ride him to city, try to finde highest building and jump while i have gun and shoot people, die, explore little more city (2 weeks) go on story, finish story (2 months) go little more fun (1 months) go on multiplayer and find some crew destroy other ones (6 months)... AND wait for GTA VI
