Ok, I know I don't put a lot of effort into many posts, this is no exception, I just think this is a story anyone who's a Cameron fan or liked the movie Titanic will enjoy

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=715277

Funny I think. Been seeing TV ads, not just being shown theatrically in 3D, it's also on IMAX screens, so maybe worth it, considering the time of the actual event falls along the time that Red Dead Redemption takes place, 1911 to 1914!!

That's amazing... maybe even more so if RDR wasn't fiction. What about since the ship was heading to New York, where GTA IV was set? wow.gif How's that for relevance?

3D Titanic? Why not upgrade 'The Terminator' or something that's actually meant for 3D?

Well, I tried 3D at the store, my sister and her hubby have a nice 47 inch or thereabouts Panasonic 3D TV, but the glasses for it are MIA, Active Shutter I imagine, anywho, I'd like to see it in 3D, Avatar came out on BD 3D, and that's a nice transition now from screen to home with the tech.

It's the 100th Anniversary they announced a National Geo show coming up and an interview on TV today with Bob Ballard about the Crow's Nest and other parts of the actual shipwreck being stolen by tourists who are looting the site, basically. A HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT site, and I believe this is just sad, so I hope they can get the laws in place to stop such things from happening. I noted first off that Titanic was one of several stories in the latest Time magazine about the greatest man-made disasters, it'd be interesting to look at without buying it.

The connection to RDR is worth a mention here, don't think it doesn't merit observation, it gives an idea of the events of that time period. I'm sure you know all about it first hand, eh??

Aren't there guns in Titanic? and guns are in GTA? Coincidence? I think not.

*Thinks of the scene when she's lying naked on the couch as Jack is drawing her*

Yeah where do we sign up?

It's exciting news for fans yes, but I couldn't imagine sitting there with those glasses for however long the film is. My eyes would fall out.

Experiencing this tommorow morning in IMAX 3D. Most 3D conversions take 6 weeks.

This took 60.

They're going f*cking mad with this 3D sh*t these days. Titanic, seriously? :| Like someone else mentioned, get the Terminator or something that would suit being in 3D. What about Starship Troopers or Independence Day or something?

I hoped that Cameron would add more scenes or change scenes that were historically wrong. I heard somewhere that Cameron initially wanted to film or even did film the almost-collision of Titanic with New York. This happened in real life too. In April 10th, after Titanic started moving from Southampton and started her first voyage, a nearby moored ship called SS New York came loose from the dock and almost collided with Titanic. Could have been interesting to see this scene. Also the break up of the ship is too dramatic.

All in all, i think i am going to see this film in 3D, cause i am a fan of the ship...but not really the movie. A girl i know wanted to go see it too, so...

I watched the Final Word this evening, as did my mom. I commend everyone involved on that documentary, as Jim stated plainly, he'd love to re-do the movie, but he joked that 8 people including himself would be about all that it really mattered to, getting the historical accuracies in there that he missed, still, you'd nearly expect more inaccuracies and there were some interesting details in bringing this program to light and celebrating in honor of the lost lives, and those who survived it as well

Indeed, i watched it too. It was very nice to see the best Titanic historians argueing how one piece ended up in one place and the other piece near another piece and so on. The methods they used were also very scientific.

Don't miss Bob Ballard tomorrow night...later TONIGHT, I should say! His segment will talk about underwater cases of piracy, the crows nest for example, which was stolen by thieves already! Trying to get laws to cover this and enforce the Titanic wreck being preserved where it lies, It's rather hard to believe as well!
