Most of the U.S. of A. uses the same water for drinking, bathing, and sanitary use. icon14.gif

My girlfriend actually just brought up how incredibly wasteful this is.

It really is. I had actually gotten into the habit of while waiting for the shower to heat up, collect the cold water to use for watering my plants and stuff.

Thats a good practice icon14.gif

I once heard a interesting thought. 70% of our planet is water, of that, only 3% is fresh water, and of that 3%, 60% is tied up in the polar caps. Don't quote me on that though. And with a population that's increasing exponentially, I think you know where I'm heading with this.

Pretty much right. Theres kids in other countries begging for the quality of water that others wont drink because they say it tastes "icky".

As I'm sure someone has already said: Most bottled water is just plain ole tap water that has been purified and has flouride or nutrients added. I think only two actually come from somewhere special. Special meaning like a well. I just hate when people think their bottled water came from some glacier or something.

Also I read that bottled water that has been left in the heat (inside a car) could leach chemicals from the bottle itself into the water.

You've based this topic on Penn and Teller's episode on rich smug people and an article on the internet?

OT: The only time you would ever see me with bottled water is if it was stupidly hot outside(Around 90-110 degrees wow.gif ) and I had nothing else to drink.

Dumbass, We use the same water in England too, plus what the other person said. In fact I don't know of any country with a separate drinking and non drinking water system at all. So research before you say you know something because obviously you look like a total retard now.

"If the World Were a Village" says that 33% of the world's population does not have access to clean drinking water.

We are all very lucky, whether our water comes from the tap or a bottle.

Tap water is definitely much better than bottled water. I prefer the taste, as it seems fresher than bottled water, but as well as that, it's also cheaper like you stated. I generally always have tap water. Only occasionally do I ever have bottled water.

WOah there pal! Easy up tiger, Hold your horses!
Never knew that the question of 'who uses drinking water in their toilet' was such a hair trigger issue, get off the meth man, it's makin you all jumpy.

OK enough with the mockery, that is something i have been hearing for a long time, even my teachers at school told me that, seems to be a common misconception here in Australia.
It's ok, we all make mistakes every once in a while, so im bound to look like a retard at one point Mr Meth.

I've subscribed to the same spring water delivery service for over 20 years now.

Our tap water is safe to drink, but you really wouldn't want to. Even taking a shower smells like an over chlorinated public swimming pool. It's not bad if it is properly filtered and I don't mind drinking out of filtered faucets and water fountains. I wanted to use filters instead of delivery, but my wife shot me down claiming that we wouldn't maintain and change the filters enough.
