It's a nice joke and it would be hell hard to emulate with currect computer highend hardware.

I'd say give it 2 years before we see a decent emu for the Xbox360 as PC hardware specs advanse every 6 months

XBox360 first and the PS3 a year after would be my best bet.

I have looked at the youtube videos and it looks like the person just ripped the output from the console HDMI or Componate.

I can do the same to record PS3 gameplay.

I don't think it's a joke considering the files were uploaded in March, plus there is an executable in there too.
My bet is that it's something malicious.
Also, the source code is no where to be seen despite it being touted as open source.

I can show you how easy it is to dress this up.

First I need to boot into my linux box, I will post some pictures of me playing PS3 on the PC.

I could even rename the icons to make it appear this is the real thing.

Dont even bother mate.. its obviously fake, and even if it actually works it probably wont run the games on anything higher than 8-9 FPS lol, just like you said people will have to wait years before a working PS3 emulator will exist
