Hi this is my setup. Sorry if this is in wrong section or anything.



In game it says i have just under 1gb memory so i tried the availiblevidmem2.0 thing and it raised it to almost 2gb but whenever i go to high 900s it will make my fps drop to below 20

I am really new to PC gaming so be easy on me . I can play skyrim on max settings using the HD texture packs with no noticable lag 90% of the time

This happens because your system is too weak to run the game on max. You will do fine at High Settings and don't try to force it any higher. There is no real good reason to.

I'm in the same situation. With the 1.0.7.0. original Steam version of GTA IV, I sometimes get less than 25 fps. My PC is similar, maybe a little worse: GTX 560 OC + Phenom II x4 980.
But the other version of GTA IV, cracked 1.0.4.0. with L3EVO V1.2 NVIDIA ENB Series, Ultimate Textures 2.0, xliveless, Trafficmodv3 and other mods runs smoother. You should also try the 295.73 WHQL NVIDIA driver, it's better and much stable than the 296.10.

Everything else is fine its just the graphics card. You can run high fine but not max

If you are desperate for max settings buy GeForce GTX 560 Ti, GTX 570 or GTX 580
