I'd like if they blocked something. The Saints Row 2 map was really unimpressive for me because it was available to me on the whole from the start. In pretty much every GTA, I've enjoyed and sometimes even memorized the maps because, being enclosed into small bits at a time, I had time to enjoy and admire the detail to them. The system also makes me super excited when a new part is unlocked, it makes me want to go out and explore.

I think that it would be a little odd if no areas were locked at first. I always like to see how far I can get through resticted areas before dying, as a little "preview".

I would like to see the map Greyed out at the start of the game and to ungrey it you have to explore the area, just like in San Andreas, it left a lot of mystery, and just imagine starting the game and looking at the map seeing a small unlocked area (the one you are in) then comparing it to the sheer size of the unlocked area, and just wondering what lays ahead.
I want this quite badly i just realized.

Game Informer told that all the places will be unlocked from the beginning of the game! And Michael,Trevor,Franklin lives in each part of Los Santos so it will be easy to roam around

Well you do know that you're not forced to explore the map. just stay close to the areas where the missions are. show a little self control.

Los Santos is the only confirmed location besides some countryside and mountains. I can't see them blocking off parts of the city and not others, and there'd be no point to blocking off the countryside. If anything will be blocked off it'll be other small cities/towns, and even that would be pointless. The only thing worth blocking off would be other large cities like in SA. I hope they don't block anything off, that was annoying in previous games and served no real purpose.

Nothing against discussing whether or not it was a good decision of R*, but it is confirmed that all parts will be open. Period.

Rockstar have already said because theres 3 characters they won't block any parts of los santos because the three characters are all in different areas

They will obviously be restricted areas of the game like army bases,airport strips etc
But obviously los santos will be open from the start

It's been confirmed the whole map is unlocked in the beginning I don't know if that means to get to certain areas you have to switch characters though.

It's already confirmed by Rockstar that the entire map from the beginning of the game will be unlocked for the player to explore.
