I feel like the game will be finished and mostly bug free months before it hits the shelves. The range of a possible quality GTAV release is multiple months IMO.

Most people are just frustrated because of the reality that R* isn't here only for their service, they have to make money for themselves and TTWO; meaning that the GTAV release will be merely a chess piece (powerful one) in this much larger match called 'Competition With Other Gaming Software Companies'.

The majority of my favourite games this gen have been 4/5+ years in the making. The only games I've really enjoyed with such rapid releases are the AC games.

Even AC is getting stale though. It's pretty much what R* wanted to avoid doing with GTA by not annualizing the franchise. All the best and most memorable games this gen have been years in the making (V, IV, RDR, Skyrim, Fallout 4?). I hope ACIII (which IS years in the making) will redeem the franchise because Brotherhood and Revelations caused me to start losing interest.

Am I missing something with Driver:SF? My roommate has that game and it just looks awful and undeveloped to me. You can't even get out of the car and wreck havoc like in past Driver games...

Yep, and agree, I can't even believe some wouldn't be upset and voted no, that just shows you that you are drinking the Casey Kool aid.

If they need 5 years to complete this it is a disgrace to US as gamers. The game is done, they will just push it back because of competition.

I honestly am loosing interest in V as I am not expecting much from the game as with IV we were supposed to be given the world, plus with MP now and DLC's we are not getting the full game anyway which GTA was always about SP.

Because it shouldn't be 5 years to make the game, and the fans support rock with buying their games, and they are very unpersonable with their fans, they shouldnt have released the trailer knowing they were going to delay MP, and then come up with another excuse of not putting out V in Oct.

with the latest leak of info on PS4 that will be released on next summer and (of course xbox 720). dont you think it's a little bit dumb part from rockstar to release this game on 2013 when next gen console is to hit the market.

the game will not sell for more than a year if the next gen hits(if the game is based on current gen console).people will eventually start to buy the next gen.

or do you think GTA 5 will be released on next gen console

Disappointed? Yes. Surprised??????? Not at all. I wouldn't be surprised if its announced for March/April (2013) and then delayed till June. Have we ever gotten a new GTA without a delay? IV was 13 months from the first trailer, being as V is so epic I wouldn't put it past them to make us wait even longer for V than we did for IV.

The only things that get delayed longer than really good games, are next generation consoles

I would not be surprised if both next gen consoles have signficant delays - like a year or more. Plus the present generation consoles are still selling well and may even be making money for Microsoft and Sony at this point.

Maybe Rockstar could bridge the gap by putting out GTAV for xbox360 and PS3, and then putting out a higher quality version for PC, to kind of bridge the gap toward the next gen consoles?

Yes I'm kinda disappointed.

Not even so much for a 2013 release date, but more about the current silence combined with a 2013 release.
If they will release it in 2013, I'm sure the game will be better then if released in 2012 because of the extra time to improve the game.

It's just the complete silence... If it isn't released this year then I find it a pretty bad thing to do to your fans.
They could give us something like a screenshot a month instead of acting like it doesn't exist for almost half a year.
IMO, that would justify the wait for an 2013 release. But I am disappointed now because it's becoming less and less likely that V will be released this year.
Now we haven't heard anything in a couple of months, 2013 release is most likely, and fans are still being ignored. There's no compensation or anything.

Rockstar knows GTA has a huge fanbase eagerly waiting for any info.
All I'm saying is Rockstar could keep the fans a lot more happy and make a 2013 release completely acceptable just by giving something, even if small.

I won't be disappointed. We likely won't see another GTA until the next generation of consoles, so I want R* to take their time with this one and make it as awesome as possible.
