To make a long story short, I was heading down to Tampa to meet some friends and my car broke down. I'm now staying in the middle of f*cking nowhere in South Carolina, staring out my hotel window at a confederate flag. I have a little Roku player with me and I need some movies to watch or I'm going to shoot myself. I just watched Mississippi Burning, and before that From Paris with Love and I'm going to watch Memento next. I've heard good things. I really like action thriller or spy movies so keep em coming. Plain old gun em' down action movies are good too. I need at least 5 hours of movies to watch.

Thanks for staving off my suicide!

Ronin. Have you seen it. I think it suites all your criteria.

Also, if you want to watch an amazing film that's a little outside your criteria but is critically acclaimed, I'd suggest La Haine. Wait, it's way outside but it just popped in to my head.

You'll defo like Ronin though , if you haven't seen it.

And anyone I know thats seen La Haine, loves it.

You'll probably like Ronin. If it's not too late you might also like The Siege.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Neither Ronin nor La Haine are available for instant view on my netflix but I put them on my DVD delivery queue, they both look good. I've seen the Siege once a few years ago but I think I'll watch it again later tonight. This is a very boring sh*tty town and I have no interest in leaving this room until my car is fixed and I can get the f*ck out of here.

North By Northwest - action, intrigue, love, comedy - it's got it all. A well-acted, well-directed spy flick starring Cary Grant.

Great way to kill a couple hours.

'It's so bad it's great.'

It's an early nineteen nineties movie that still pongs of the eighties; it's

Frankenhooker (1990)

If you don't mind subtitles, you'd love

Mr. Vampire (1985)

I don't know what year the English dubbed one came out.

Two Lane Blacktop

I think this '70s road movie more effectively illustrates the sense of being lost and trying to find yourself that Easy Rider tried to. Two Lane Blacktop is a superior film. Of course it has musicians James Taylor and Dennis Wilson in lead roles but it's Warren Oates who steals the show. I really felt like I knew what he was going through (some sort of crisis). Oates was an awesome actor.

Note: My sig is from the ending and the line is one of the last ones Warren says in the film.

Great shout, fantastic film. Cary Grant is absolute class.

"Not that i mind a slight case of abduction now and then, but I have tickets for the theater this evening, to a show i was looking forward to and I get, well, kind of, unreasonable, about things like that."

Quotables all day. Im not someone who watches their favourite films often, but this gets viewed a lot.
