I really would hate to have to go walking around Los Santos for hours and hours looking for tags. I get bored very easily and frustrated for I do have a short attention span and low patience and quick temper. I've gotten upset over this game.
So many streets and what not and I don't have a lot time to just creep around looking for tags. I wish there was some kind of device where I could get a location of all tags. This goes for the horseshoes in Las Venturas as well as cameras in San Fierro and oysters in San Andreas.
The point of the "hidden package" missions is the same reason there's the hidden packages in III and VC, and why there's Seagulls to shoot in IV. It's to get you to explore and appreciate the city the level designers worked so hard to make.
There is also SAMA (San Andreas Mission Assistant) the links I have are dead try google/bing. and The SAM map is interactive. Considered suitable for finding LOTs of stuff.

This is more of a discussion about the tags and the sort, it's not really asking for help, man. It wouldn't really fit in the other topics.

Wow im doing the same thing, tag finding! My last game i had 99 and thought the game was joking..then im just cruizin around and i go, what the..saw the last one! Finally! It was well hidden, an orange tag on a red wall, blended in so couldn't really see it unless up close. I've heard the tags are easier to see at night because they are fluoro is that right Lil Weasel?

Damn...i got 99 and i remembered where the tag was so i went back and i had 'half sprayed' it. So i fully sprayed it and i heard the 'bleep' noise meaning it was done but the game still says 99. So make sure when spraying to fully complete the tag and make sure there is enough paint in your can when the level is down to 100 go and get another one
There's a far easier way to do that. There's a program called SAMA (San Andreas Mission Analyzer) which will tell you all the tags / photo shoots / horseshoes / oysters you have LEFT making the collecting much easier since you won''t need to search in the same place twice. To install it, put the SAMA.exe in the main San Andreas Directory and run it. Then run the game and load your save file. After you've taken control over Carl, use the key combination Alt+TAB to exit back on the desktop and press the 2nd button from left of SAMA to refresh the program. It'll tell you now all the stuff you have left until reaching 100% Completion. The collectables are represented by red / blue / green / yellow dots on the map. Good luck.
But it doesn't measures the altitude. You might have problems with some collectables. It is better to do everything on daytime because on evening, tags mix up with the environment which hides it. If you have any trouble, use Google and find the specific tag. They will also supply a photo.
I still believe that SAMA would be the best. Although it doesn't show the height level of the collectable, it still shows which you've done and which not. There aren't anyway so many collectables that might be hard to find because of the height, most of them are at the ground level, or the only available level. Plus, Google might have them ordered in a different way. So, if you search for tag #6 you might find on Google the same tag at #51. Just an example.

At Dusk and Dawn the Gang Tags tend to be like Day-Glo paint. In Day light they tend to merge with the background to the point of not being visible. True, on the Interactive Maps you can click the number to see a picture of the location as well.
SAMA is very good, by not showing the completed locations. And is especially easy to view when you have a muliple screen setup.

Here you go www.gta-sanandreas.com/guides/tagsmap/index.php
Does that site also have the places where weapons are hidden? Like rocket launchers, snipers, and mini guns I've found where they're hidden along with the Desert Eagle but what about the MP5, AK47 and other guns. I'm kinda running low on that. Or can you only get that in AmmuNation.
