What is it about new graphics cards that can't enable this effect in III and VC? Does anyone have a fix for this? Hell, GTA 4 which was supposed to be so "realistic" didn't have proper rain reflections on all 3 versions!

Maybe these games didn't have that feature/didn't support it?-remember III is from 2001(PS2)/2002(PC and X-Box) and VC is from 2002(PS2)/2003(PC and X-Box), so maybe that feature didn't exist back then. Remember, video cards back then were not as powerful as they are now. Most PC's back then came with either the Cheapo VIA/SIS chips... confused.gif

No, that's exactly the thing. The PC versions of GTA III and VC HAD rain reflections. They would only work on old driver though. My question is, is it possible to enable them again?

If it had it, then "roll back" to the earliest driver available for your card and it *might* work?-For example, I am using a driver from 2010(according to the DXDIAG page), and everything is fine with these games... That's the main thing with old games and new cards-there are always trade offs for some reason-you get better performance, yet some of the old features in game are lost sometimes? confused.gif

Those are always there, I think they're part of the environment.

Do you mean the reflection of lamp posts and other lights during rain at night?

Yes. See how the police cars lights are reflecting on the ground? And you can tell by the yellow weapon box that it IS the PC version so they did work at one point.
