The canonicity of GTA Advance is debateable - not only is it the only GTA game to not be primarily developed by a Rockstar studio, it does not feature on Rockstar's Official Grand Theft Auto Website, it is also the only top-down game in the GTA III Era and is the only avaliable GameBoy Advance game in the GTA III Era.

So guys, what you you think? Do you reckon GTA Advance is canon to the GTA III Era or not?

8-Ball exists in the game, so I think that's proof of its canon-icity.

Yes. 8-Ball, King Courtney, Asuka and Misty were in the game and those characters appeared in GTA III. When you play GTA Advance you will also see many similarities to GTA III because the games are set in the same area.

By the way: I hate the word "canon". I think they should let the fans decide what they consider as canon or not.

If I remember right, then GTA Advance was supposed to be an exact copy of GTA III but just in 2D. That was the case until Rockstar decided to create new characters and create a new story for the game! The game nevertheless has some characters from III so I would say it's a canon to GTA III.
