I also feel that the 49ers would have been a better fit. I guess that Peyton did not want to be in a situation that would possibly lead up to him eliminating his own brother for Superbowl contention. Maybe he would rather face him in the superbowl, if he makes it there?

Anyway, I am sure that Peyton has his reasons alongside of the whole John Elway thing.

Peyton to the 49ers would have changed the balance of power in the NFC, and made SF the favorites to win the Super Bowl. From everything I've read, what you said about Peyton not wanting to face Eli in a conference championship is true. Plus, Peyton wanted to stay in the AFC, being more familiar with those teams.

As more my Super Bowl champion Giants, we lost Jacobs, Manningham and now Aaron Ross who signed with Jacksonville. Such is life in the NFL. You can't keep everybody.

Yeah man, I was certain that you guys would have kept Manningham. I also felt the same about David Tyree..

Ahmad Bradshaw is great, I would who would accompany him besides DJ Ware?

And also, where do you all see Tebow going?

Manningham wanted a bigger role and more money. It wasn't going to happen in NY, with Nicks and Cruz the primary targets. I'll miss him - dude made some BIG catches in the playoffs, the biggest in the Super Bowl.

Right now, Jerry Reese can do no wrong. I'm sure he'll find another running back to complement Bradshaw. I think we have a couple of young backs already. Now they get a chace to prove themselves.

Unfortunately, Tebowmania will not die. He'll probably go to Jacksonville or Miami. He's considered a god in Florida.

Found the numbers on adam schefter's twitter: 5 year deal worth $96m. $18m without injury protection in 2012, there's an injury waiver based on a physical in 2013. if he passes that physical he gets $40m guaranteed with a waiver

you knew there was gonna be a huge clause concerning his neck injury.

they need a way to void about half the contract should Peyton suddenly re-aggravate the nerves and be unable to play.

Denver needs to get rid of Tebow. The last thing Manning, Elway and the Bronco's organization needs is Mile High stadium chanting Tebow as soon as Manning messes up. Be prepared to hear about the likes of Julius Thomas, Eric Decker, Demariyus Thomas and the re-emergence of Eddie Royal.

Indeed. When Peyton was playing for my Colts, he really turned Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon into some nice recievers. Before that we didn't really know who they were. I think it'd be great if Dallas Clark and Jeff Saturday were to join Manning in Denver, but maybe its a long shot.

I fail to see who on earth will try to pick up Curtis Painter, even as a third string QB lmao.

Breaking news from WFAN:

Broncos traded Tebow to the Jets for a 4th round pick. Dumb Jets. I wouldn't give up a 7th round pick for that dude. This wasn't a football move. The Jets braintrust can't get over the Giants beating them and going on to win the Super Bowl. They hate being second to Big Blue. The Tebow move is all about publicity, headlines and selling tickets/jerseys. Tebow isn't all that, but he's extremly popular and generates buzz. Woody Johnson(the Jets owner) wants that.

The NFL has suspended Sean Payton for a year.

I agree. Tebow is an awful QB who benefitted from stubborn defensive coordinators not just playing coverage and putting a spy on him. He's effectively the equivalent of the wildcat formation in 2008, a gigantic fad that only worked due to defensive coordinators' temporary incompetence.

This is also horrible for Tebow because the Jets can't develop quarterbacks for sh*t.

Wow, Sean Peyton suspended for a year.. With this whole bounty thing, I wonder if his image will be tarnished a bit.

Tebow going to the Jets, not thay good of a move. Now they have two crappy QB's for Santonio Holmes to get pissed with. I know they feel he can ease the tension in the locker room and help with Wildcat offenses, but he's just a sh*tty QB. Waste of money. At least he will fill in the seats and sell those jerseys.

my home team is the St. Louis Rams (I currently live/work in Denver) and we also got some sh*tty news in the latest cycle.

Payton may have been suspended for the entire year, but our new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams (suspected orchestrator of the bounty) was suspended immediately and indefinitely; which means he may never coach again and we'll have to get a new D coordinator already.

what a wild day.

Bills adding strength to their defence while simultaneously weakening the Patriots by signing Mark Anderson. Some offenses are going to bleed this year.

Wow, that's a good signing. The Bills will definitely be able to get to the quarterback this year. If the offense is as good as it was in the first five games of last season, the Bills could easily go deep in the playoffs.

The Tebow trade has hit a snag. The Jets didn't read the fine print. Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that. Typical Jets, lol. Stay tuned.

I'm glad to hear that he's back on board with the 49ers and not too upset about the Peyton Manning debacle. It was only natural for his team to pursue one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and it's impressive that Smith was mature enough to understand that. Although I'm sure Smith is no stranger to adversity due to all that discussion about him being a bust.

Tebow to the Jets has been confirmed.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id...ade-second-time

The Broncos also gave a 2012 7th round pick in return for a 2012 4th and 6th round pick from the Jets.

And as I said earlier, this is a stupid trade for the Jets who should be signing weapons for Sanchez rather than bulking up on mediocre quarterbacks.

Even ScareCro (Antonio Cromartie) is against this move.
