As a Charger fan, it's sad to see him finally retire. He carried the Chargers from 2001-2007 and some of those teams had downright atrocious offensive lines. He was the first and most major step of bringing a troubled franchise out of mediocrity. And yet sadly enough, his career will always be defined by his lack of SB rings (or even appearances), which are really due to a series of freak mistakes from the likes of Marlon McCree, Antonio Cromartie, and of course, Nate Kaeding.
In addition, he might have been the last of his kind- the true, all-purpose, workhorse running back. He could catch the ball (as DOOM said, he caught 100 balls in a season for cripes sake), he could run the ball, he could block, and he could even throw the ball as he had 7 career touchdown passes.
*Holds the all-time NFL record for single season touchdowns (31) *2nd in all-time rushing touchdowns (145) *3rd in all-time overall touchdowns (162) *5th in all-time NFL rushing yards (13,684) *7th in all-time all-purpose yards (18,456)

That was the very next season after Shaun Alexander had it lol

Dude. Its the year of the 12. As in the Seattle Seahawks hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. | /obligatory my team is going to win the super bowl comment Oh man....this is going to be a great season full of amazing plays. I just know it. Going against the likes of the Packers, Bears, Lions, Patriots, and Ravens is going to create some of the better games of the year. All of those guys are extreme contenders and I can't wait to watch those games.

I dunno if you can call it "sleeping" on them. most people are just waiting for them to prove it, first. Seattle hasn't shown that they can hold it together long enough to go all the way, not yet at least. it's the same reason why I don't sleep on Tony Romo or the Cowboys. I know they've got talent, but they wind up blowing it every year no matter what the hype. people try to build up Dallas every season and every season they suck it up. if any teams are being slept on it's the 49ers or the Texans. they're poised to upset.

Who's your favorite NFL team?
What's the overall opinion of American football in Great Britain? | Atlanta Falcons, yours? It's getting quite popular these days. There's not a lot of places to play due to the expense of everything, but more people are interested overall than ever I'd say. It's a bit awkward watching games as they go on into the early hours of the morning, but I'd say the overall opinion is very high as once a year two NFL teams play eachother at Wembley and the event sells out pretty quickly.
