I can't wait! I actually enjoyed Societies. It wasn't the original SC formula, but the concept was great. I would love a mixture of the original SC and Societies.

Im exited too! The last good simcity was 4. I KIND OF, liked societies, but it lagged and crashed at random alot. If it comes to consoles, i will be happier, since the last cool console simcity was simcity 2000 and for PS1. (i like SC2000 on PS1. I have it on PS3 as a PSone classic, pretty good).

Console release? How the hell are they gonna make a game like that play and be fun on consoles without dumbing it down for everyone? I'm mildly interested, but skeptical.

They did not dumb down the console release of simcity 2000.
EDIT: No simcity console releases were dumbed down to be honest. Besides Simcity Creator and Creator 2, but they were meant for consoles.

Because of what i see in the game shot, i can see it uses the engine from the sims 3. Hope its made by EA or maxis, and not an external dev.,

This better not be like Simcity Societies, it sounds like they are "mainstreaming" it. I swear if this game is ruined there will be major hell to pay, and they better not push that Origin crap on us.

f*cking awesome. I loved SimCity 4. I didnt care too much for Societies. I'm intrigued and i hope they show some stuff at GDC.

Origin is required for all EA games now to "try" to stop piracy.

Also...couldn't agree with you more on the Societies pile of crap. After they knew it was going to be sh*t they tried to distance the name from SimCity - claiming Societies is just a new avenue or something asinine like that.

They already know TheSims didn't work out for the console. I sure hope they would stick to being smart and release it as it should be...just and updated SimCity for the PC like a bunch of us have been waiting for all these years. I thought player reviews were somewhat panning the console version(s). I've never played it on a console so I can't speak from my own experience or anything.

They sold on the name alone. Reviews were crap, both player and media.

Finnaly life is worth living again some of my earliest gaming memorys are playing sim city and sim city 2000. id given up hope of a new version been far to long. ive got the android version of sim city on me phone to tide kyself over until this arrives!

i looked at the shots again and my hype factor is turned upto 11!

I wish this ain't a joke! Sim City 4 was one of my favorite games and I've been waiting for Sim City 5 for quite a while now. It's good to hear that it's coming, I sure hope it's worth-it and not too boring. But I hope it would be like CitiesXL.
