Yeah.. I know what you mean! I'm just saying GTA V doesnt need a map that big.. A map 2x times bigger than San Andreas with so much detail (like we saw in the trailer) is fine by me

Wow. You don't realize how small GTA III actually is. Some of these newer maps are monsters, but I hope GTA V isn't too big.

JC2 was like a chore to get around. It should be big enough to satisfy R*'s claim that it's their biggest map ever made, but it shouldn't be so big that it's literally boring to explore.

Didn't you guys watch the trailer? The shot with the digger on the right and the city in the distance, that's probably less than half the size of the city alone and it was massive. The countryside looks huge too. This isn't copy pasta map making like JC2, they're probably focusing on one city alone. I'd love a JC2 size map personally, if it felt uniquely detailed all around. JC2 was fun as hell to travel around, awesome map.

So you think its a good marketing plan to just go out an say "it's ONLY LS and the surrounding beach's and countryside." The reason they didn't say "only" is because it sounds too restrictive if you asked me.

For anyone. Why would it bother you if they said it is "only" LS? If it is "not SF or LV"? Why? There is no logical reason.

Planes. We must be able to fly to another airport. Why would they just have 'ONE' airport at Los Santos International?
In the original SA, we played the Los Santos missions before being taken and dumped off in Angel Pine. But back then we had the whole map to look at.
Maybe in GTA V we will see JUST the Los Santos map, then at some stage after finishing the LS missions, we get kidnapped or told 'Get your ass to SF' then SF opens up and you check the map and see that it has been added and the map size zoomed back more to show it.
Whatever happens this game will be huge.

I was suggesting anything he could have said. He could have said "LV and SF will not be featured in the game." I didn't mean for him to say exactly what I wrote but rather make it obvious that SF and LV won't be in the game to stop low lives on this forum from arguing at each other. Gosh I never knew this place was full of butt hurt GTA fans who get offended when someone posts something. I guess it was my mistake for replying.

Yes, I did watch the trailer and studied the 'Mapping LS-thread'. Based on that my conclusion is that LS isn't massive at all, my guess it's about halve the size of Liberty City in IV which leaves plenty of room for other cities.

Well I dont believe that SF and LV will be in the game but they still havent disconfirmed it, they just said the same thing they said in the press release. The only way they can confirm this is to say 'Yes that's correct, SF and LV will not be in the game' or something along those lines. If they came out and announced that they were in the game, they wont have lied, they'll have just been misleading.

Well, real life LA is massive; it’s far bigger than New York, geographically speaking. So it stands to reason that Rockstar’s biggest world ever would contain their largest city ever. Add in a healthy does of countryside and you have a very, very large map.

I think GTA V set in two cities like GTA IV. GTA IV was set in two cities: Liberty City (New York) and Alderney (New Jersey). And GTA V, Los Santos (Los Angeles) and Los Puerta (San Diego - I guess Los Puerta is San Diego). I hope we'll see more cities..

They didn't even show the whole city in the trailer. It's way too early to determine how small or large LS really is. Landmarks are always closer together in GTA, but L.A. is ginormous and we don't know all the areas R* will feature. There may be something on the other side of those mountains or there may be more to the south than we realize. And there's a ginormous 9 hole (presumably) golf course somewhere in there. I suspect it will be closer to LC's size than you think.

Keep in mind also the true size of LC was never shown in any of GTA IV's trailers.
