I am back today and I hope to get rolling with the mapping side of things. but I am sitting here just finishing on installing the right windows 7 drivers for my system.
I have got very tired of windows having to reinstall every 3 months where todays technology should be more robust.
I am making headway in making 3dsmax9 work on Ubuntu11.04, it's just a matter of getting the VRay32server.exe running on wine as a services before Max is ran for the licensing server checking.
Since I have been away I have seen some amazing work by Swoorup with the paths and radar and I hope to complement this with some new and interesting maps within SOL, I also want ideas for the maps I do not want to just map my ideas.
I have drawn up the final map plan that I will disclose soon a long with a story line.
Hey X-Seti, if you plan to make the mod with the storyline, i can try to write it for you. You can give me the details of characters, main missions, locations, etc...
I was hoping to have a vote on the main Guy or Girl?, The old story line we had was not being finished.
We are starting over so this is your task if you wish to accept it.
Start your own thread and collect ideas M8.
The map is being made for current day so if you need save houses or anything you would like added to the map for a mission, ask us in your own topic.
Fine. I will create the thread, however i came into a thought of the main character (maybe the main characters, haha). Do i create the thread in this part of the forum or in another?
Create it in this one m8. Call It GTA: SOL - Story Board

As some of you may have heard I lost my dev box last weekend.
The PSU and Motherboard are damaged. It's going to take some time before I can get my box working with the way things are for me right now.
So this is what I would like.
I have been watching this board this week to see what is happening in the other areas of the mod, I can not expect much in the way of progress since 90% of the team are away.
So what I would like is for someone else to pack the mod up with the latest files.
These files will be mostly the latest map with the coords put back as it was plus all the cool work with the hacks.
Splash screens changed plus anything else that might be needed and think of a name for the release and use the old Readme from 93.0 if this helps and upload this onto the team ftp.
I will move the file onto the hosting site.
Thanks ---------
Edit: April 07 2012
I have still not got any hardware to work on my devbox.
Now this is what we will have to do.
1. Work out what vehicles we want in the game, VC, LC, SA.. 2. Finish the splash screens. 3. Fix the start game player location selection screen. 4. The jobs list needs to be looked at by those capable of fixing bugs. 5. Make sure others know what to do and tasks not left undone. 6. Make sure everyone has the latest updates. 7. Upload everything you want in the next release into the export folder on the TeamFTP.
Ok, I can pack the folder when we as a team agree to release to the public.
I see Max loader works and there has been some progress with the hacks.
I've been talking to Almost today and I have made him a Co Leader next to me for the Project.
I would like all team members to communicate more on this board and not to leave random messages on Skype as it can be annoying when you sign on and get flooded by messages that could have been answered on here. so from this we need more of a structure for team communication so its clear for everyone.
If you have a Mod related question for another team member please post these questions in the right topic on this board.
Keeping this board active will in the end gain more outside interest for us with the public, think about it - an active project board might mean we get more help.
We have this board on GTAF for the benefit of the project, We can use Skype for group team chats only.
I want your feedback and those who are away from the team right now please keep in contact.

The computer I started Coding/ Modding with 9 years ago, I put back together today with some other parts I had laying around.
Thank Frak for Freecycle.
I never seem to throw stuff out and this drives my wife nuts more so with the junk I seem to collect.
I am back in a limited capacity retro as things seen to be where I am back to pretty much using the same hardware specs to when I first started working on State of liberty.
Umm for those who want to know what hardware I started of using.
AMD Crawhammer 3000+ 2.1Ghz Nforce 3serise motherboard. ATI Raidon 9600 (128Mb) GPU 2Gb Ram (DDR1) 200Mhz 160Gb SATA HD, 40Gb SDD HD taken from my devbox.
Amazing specs for 2004 but I can not complain.
Enough from me, I would like to know how everyone else is doing?

Not quite good. The more I go deeper into them, the most hurdles and obstacles are being produced. I have yet to look more of the functions, especially with some vehicle class. For example, there is a CAutoPilot class that stores numbers as node as 16 bit. I thought the 16bit indexes were limited to only path functions. But there are more of the structures thats needs to be increased
EDIT: CAutoPilot structure is held with CVehicle class. I discovered that it would take too much of work. Its looking Semi-impossible to increase the 2 bytes space.

Glad to see this getting picked back up!
I'd love to help out with something sometime, I'll be doing some programming work for school in a bit so maybe you'll be needing my help then or something.
