Oh, misunderstood you. But yeah, most people seem to just click their issues and sign out. If it takes a civil war to create action, might as well go for it, I say. Won't affect anybody unless they want it to, after all. Easier than trying to negotiate who wins some pre-planned war with another player.

| QUOTE (El Zilcho @ Sunday, May 27 2012, 09:34) | | It's quiet because we're busy in real life, perhaps after the exams are concluded we'll see a resurgence. Don't try and force activity, it won't catch on. | Yes, me too. It's not my idea to force activity at all.

Mayor news from Argfenstein.

| QUOTE | The new Argfenstein Realm
On the evening of Jan. 30, Adenoid Hynkel, the newly appointed Chancellor of Argfenstein, stood in a government building at an open window watching a torchlight parade of 25,000 Nizan troops march through the streets of Germania. Thousands of Argfens cheered as they marched by, and Hynkel was giddy with delight. "No power on Earth will get me out of here alive," someone heard him say.
Earlier that day, the President of Argfenstein, Paul von Richstofen, had appointed Hynkel Chancellor. Having won more than than 37 percent of the vote in the previous year's legislative elections, Hynkel's party had enough power to effectively paralyze Argfenstein's democratic government, which had been in place for 14 years. Richstofen hoped that by appointing Hynkel, he could satisfy Nizan legislators and break the deadlock, while maintaining control of the government behind the scenes.

| QUOTE | With the population of Amsterdon reaching 1.5 billion this week, preperations were made for extravagant ceremonies and parades to commemorate the occasion.
The capital city of National Area 1 was renamed in the Supreme Leader's honour to "Leider Stad" meaning leader city. It is an apt name as it reflects its role as a centre of national and regional importance in finance, politics, culture and infrastructure, but also in honour of the Supreme Leader himself and his great contributions to the Federation of Amsterdon. It was marked by massive celebrations within the capital, as well as other cities across Amsterdon. Citizens were seen jubilant on the streets, waving flags and hailing the Supreme Leader and his glory.
A huge military parade was held in his honour, with tens of thousands of troops marching across the main square, which itself was also renamed in the Supreme Leader's honour to "Leider Plein". The Supreme Leader was seen waving and saluting the troops, looking stern and with steel in his eyes. At the end of the parade he gave a speech praising the might and bravery of Amsterdonian troops, giving special credit to those in Lilliputia, to a crowd hundreds of thousands strong which had filled the parade ground and the surrounding streets and boulevards.
The Supreme Leader then reitred to the Federal Palace, giving an adress to the entire nation via TV in the evening.

| QUOTE (Oh the Humanity!) | During a recent severe storm, the airship AAS-Hiddenburg caught fire and ended up making a crash landing in Germania. Everyone on board as well as several hundred people on the ground were killed in the resulting inferno. Reporter Herb Morris' incredible live coverage of the disaster and the media circus surrounding the safety of such vessels has people looking to the government for solutions.

| QUOTE | | Oh, the humanity! And all the passengers screaming around here. I told you; it—I can't even talk to people, their friends are out there! Ah! It's... it... it's a... ah! I... I can't talk, ladies and gentlemen. Honest: it's just laying there, mass of smoking wreckage. Ah! And everybody can hardly breathe and talk and the screaming. I... I... I'm sorry. Honest: I... I can hardly breathe. I... I'm going to step inside, where I cannot see it. Charlie, that's terrible. Ah, ah... I can't. Listen, folks; I... I'm gonna have to stop for a minute because [indecipherable] I've lost my voice. This is the worst thing I've ever witnessed. |
The actual cause of the fire remains unknown, although a variety of hypotheses have been put forward for both the cause of ignition and the initial fuel for the ensuing fire. The government fears it could be an attack from communist terrorist organizations or worst, from Nations in our own Region. |

| QUOTE (NovyNews.com.ok) | Regional Strife Swaying National Opinions Nejlepši
The high number of violent incident in the region over the course of the past several weeks has begun to seriously affect nationwide opinions on terrorism, security, and politics, polling has shown.
Federal analysis, backed up by private research institutions, have released reports detailing a significant relationship between the politics of the attackers in recent incidents and their actions. "In layman's terms, it means that they all have similar motives for similar actions," says Ondrej Karlov, criminal psychologist and researcher at the Ředitelství Zahraničních Věcí a Informace (Directorate of Foreign Affairs and Information; RZVI/DFAI).
"It's highly likely that the Glesgan civil war has sparked these events. The victory of extremist socialist forces in South Glesga was followed by attacks in the 500 and the loss of the AAS-Hiddenburg--in which communist extremists may be implicated--within two weeks. This is not likely just a coincidence. Leftist extremist groups in largely capitalist or imperialist countries have been motivated into violent action by the success of the RFG in South Glesga."
Despite the government responding to these events by turning its attention to increased security and foreign relations issues, a number of analysts and experts are unworried. When asked why, parliament member Andrej Pohodly had this to say:
"Fear is understandable and I sympathize with my fellow Okurkites. Terrorism is difficult to predict and it can affect all of us in very significant and personal ways. However, while I support action to secure the safety of our citizens and our posterity, I feel that we as a nation have little to fear. Okurka has absolutely no imperialist presence and our current politics are quite liberal. We have a good mix of socialist and capitalist policies that shouldn't offend anybody except, perhaps, someone who is looking to be offended, and if they are, then we are happy to talk to them about their concerns. Bullets and blood should never have to enter a political conversation."

| QUOTE (Blyania Today English) | Blyania to boycott Argfenstein Olympics
Premier Marcel Vacek announced today that Blyania will not be participating in the upcoming Olympic Games in Germania. Vacek stated that the move was in protest to the recent takeover of government by Adenoid Hynkel and his party who recently gained control of Parliament and promptly dismantled the democratic process of Argfenstein. Vacek called the move by Hynkel as a “Fascist invasion” and has also urged other nations to join the boycott as well.
What’s Next for South Glesga?
After the Revolutionary Forces of Glesga gained control of the nation from the Glesgan National Army questions have arose on what is the next course of action for South Glesga as it enters a new era as the “People’s Republic of South Glesga”. The government of Blyania has stated that South Glesga has entered a promising age of security and stability and has pledged full support to the nation as it looks to rebuild under a viable Socialist infrastructure.

Argfenstein-Shaffeyan AllianceThe Kingdom of Shaffey is proud to announce an alliance between her and Argfenstein. King Shaffey and other Shaffeyan Ministers have met the decision in the Natyala Palace in Utsoort on Friday after being contacted by telegram by Führer Adenoid Heinkel. King Shaffey then passed the bill "Praecepta Pacem": | QUOTE (Praecepta Pacem) | • The Argfenstein Military may settle in Shaffey, and vice versa • The Economies of Shaffey and Argfenstein may rely on each other for support • The immigration policies for Shaffeyan Citizens and Argfenstein Citizens will not be as strict as it was in the Danzig Republic • In case of war, the two nations can rely on each other's military help (i.e. Troops, food, ammunition, vehicles etc.) • The two nations will back each other's policies and decisions, except when the decisions and policies fundamentally go against the ideology of the other nation |
If the Führer, Adenoid Heinkel agrees to Praecepta Pacem, the Alliance will be sealed.

Three-Power Pact [Axis Pact]
The pact was signed by representatives of Argfenstein (Adenoid Hynkel), Fegelein Hermanny (Hermann Fegelein), and the Kingdom of Shaffey (King Shaffey). The three nations agreed that for the next ten years they would "stand by and co-operate with one another in... their prime purpose to establish and maintain a new order of things... to promote the mutual prosperity and welfare of the peoples concerned." They recognized each other's spheres of interest and undertook "to assist one another with all political, economic and military means when one of the three contracting powers is attacked".
| QUOTE (The Tripartite Pact between Shaffey @ Argfenstein, and Fegelein Hermanny) | •ARTICLE 1. Shaffey recognizes and respects the leadership of Argfenstein and Fegelein Hermanny in the establishment of a new order in GTAForums.
•ARTICLE 2. Shaffey, Argfenstein, and Fegelein Hermanny agree to cooperate in their efforts on aforesaid lines. They further undertake to assist one another with all political, economic and military means if one of the Contracting Powers is attacked by another Power.
•ARTICLE 3. Shaffey, Argfenstein and Fegelein Hermanny affirm that the above agreement affects in no way the political status existing at present between each of the three Contracting Powers and the Republic of Tulija.
•ARTICLE 4. The present pact shall become valid immediately upon signature and shall remain in force ten years from the date on which it becomes effective. In due time, before the expiration of said term, the High Contracting Parties shall, at the request of any one of them, enter into negotiations for its renewal. | This post has been edited by goin-god on Saturday, Jun 9 2012, 19:27

By the gods... | QUOTE (Transcript from Press Conference with President Vaclav Holub and Prime Minister Lenka Gjuricova) | [President Vaclav Holub approaches the podium] [President Vaclav Holub adjusts his glasses and begins speaking]
Holub: Hello everyone. To begin, I must let you all know that I will be taking no questions today. Prime Minister Gjuricova will field whatever questions you may have, as she is the proper voice of the government. I speak here now as the voice of the people and the Minister of Regional Affairs for GTAForums. Now let us begin.
Only a short while ago, the Three Power Pact between the Kingdom of Shaffey, the Third Reich of Arfgenstein, and the Fatherland of Fegelein Hermanny was formed. Although alliances are not uncommon and not unwelcome in the GTAForums region, I know I speak for a number of nations, as well as my own nation, when I say that this Three Power Pact should be carefully scrutinized by the region for its legitimacy.
I repeat that alliances are not uncommon nor unwelcome in the GTAForums region. The Federal Republic of Okurka maintains a fine economic relationship with the Meritocratic Republic of Tulija, among others. However, the propositions of this pact, in addition to the inclusion of one particular member in the pact, is worrisome to me. The first article of the Three-Power Pact uses the language of establishing a new order within the GTAForums region. Not between those nations or within those nations but within the whole of the region. As further articles expressly lay out willing military cooperation between the three nations, we are left to wonder exactly what kind of new order the Three-Power Pact has in mind, and history has taught us that we should not think optimistically about such an arrangement.
Even more so, as the Minister of Regional Affairs, I am struck by the Third Reich of Argfenstein, which acts as the Ministry of Security for the region, having a part in this alliance. Impartiality and openness to all regional conflicts in which the Ministry of Security may have to act cannot be secured when the state acting as the Ministry of Security has its own agenda and the agenda of a select few others being put before its duties for which the nation itself applied and was voted in with the confidence of the region.
In short, I feel that these particular circumstances of the Three-Power Pact should be carefully examined by all nations and brought to each others' attention, something I gladly begin as the Minister of Regional Affairs. Thank you very much.
[President Vaclav Holub bows and leaves the podium] [Applause and questions from the press audience] [Prime Minister Lenka Gjuricova approaches the podium] ... |
| QUOTE (The Nejlepši Times) | New Light Attack Fighter Graces OFADS
Following a boost to the Okurkite Federal Air Defense Service's (OFADS) budget, its ranks were reinvigorated with the introduction of a new, top-of-the-line light attack fighter from aviation producer Šipka Průmysl (Arrow Industries): the L-120 "Vrabec" ("Sparrow").
Two L-120 "Vrabec" fighters exploring the Okurite countryside (image hotlinked)
Although small, the Vrabec is nimble, loaded with hardpoints, and excels at loitering and patrolling duties, according to its makers. Over 100 are expected to be produced to rearm the nation's small and outdated military.
Authorities within the OFADS said that despite excitement over the introduction of the L-120, it is still looking for fourth generation air superiority fighters to supplement its 7 Tulijan M-84s.

The Reich Reporter | Fegelein Hermanny Unveils First Aircraft Carrierby Senior Editor, Roger Sommer On this glorious day for Fegelein Hermanny, citizens flock for their first view of the Kriegsmarine’s new state-of-the-art aircraft carrier, christened the Graf Jeppelin, namesake of our very own industrious Ferdinand von Jeppelin. The Graf Jeppelin will take its maiden voyage as well as undergo aircraft testing in the sea within two weeks, but in the meantime, the vessel will be open for viewing by the public. Senior officer, Captain Samuel Rothschild, to take the helm of the Graf Jeppelin after its commission, was caught by our reporter on the scene, Karl Schwartz, for an interview: Schwartz: “Heil Fegelein, Captain.” KptzS. Rothschild: “Heil Fegelein, citizen.” Schwartz: “Karl Schwartz, from the Reich Reporter. I understand that this will be your naval vessel in the oncoming weeks?” KptzS. Rothschild: “That is correct. I have received orders from the great Hermann Fegelein himself to deliver untamed vengeance toward those that dare oppose us, and this carrier will be the instrument to carry out such actions.” Schwartz: “A fine ship for such a purpose indeed, Captain. And this ship will be testing our fleet of aircraft in the coming weeks, I suppose?” KptzS. Rothschild: “Yes, we will be carrying out joint exercises with the Luftwaffe to gauge the effectiveness of the Graf Jeppelin as a platform for launching numerous types of aircraft.” Schwartz: “Speaking of aircraft, one of our photographers snapped an interesting photo last week before the official unveiling of the Graf Jeppelin. In it, I see an unusual aircraft, which our readers on the internet have supposed to be a UFO, or a flying saucer, even. What do you have to say of this photograph?” KptzS. Rothschild: “Oh that? Why, it’s simply a weather balloon which we agreed to test on behalf of a private atmospheric testing organization. Your readers must have some imagination to believe otherwise.” Schwartz: “Well it certainly seems like an oddly-shaped weather balloon… would you mind telling our readers what kind of testing this vehicle has been doing in prior weeks?” KptzS. Rothschild: “I’m sorry, but in respect for a certain private atmospheric testing organization, I am not at liberty to disclose such information. As for the shape of the weather balloon, I believe that the photograph must have been tampered with to mislead your audiences.” Schwartz: “Surely you don’t believe that this photograph has been fabricated? Our photographer has been in faithful employment to the Reich Reporter for over a decade!” KptzS. Rothschild: “Not anymore, he’s not.” Schwartz: “What do you mean? I saw him in his office at- oh, oh no! You don’t mean…?” KptzS. Rothschild: “I’m afraid I have to see to some plans. I must declare this interview over.” Charming fellow, that captain! Why, he even organized a surprise party for our beloved photographer (whose name we must withhold for his privacy), and granted him an all-expenses paid vacation for a month! I wonder if we will hear from <name withheld> again or will he be so caught up in his vacation that he will never want to return? However it turns out, we at the Reich Reporter wish him a happy vacation and we give the best of luck to Captain Rothschild in the coming weeks.

(for shame...) | QUOTE (The Nejlepši Times) | Citizens Come Together to Celebrate Period of Prosperity
Despite a past few months of a rocky economy and continuing regional turmoil, citizens of Okurka are enjoying a newfound time of prosperity. Many say that the recent good fortune for the nation has been a result of the government navigating intense issues on civil rights, political freedoms, and the economy.
"For a while there I was worried about the future," says everyday layman Josef Barva. "The economy was kind of tanking and it seemed like the government was trying to save it by cutting back on workers' rights, but somehow we came out better than ever! Long Live the Federal Republic!"
Celebrations over national ratings, which indicate Okurkites as some of the nicest, most cultured, smartest, and longest living people on the planet, have led many to call for a national holiday to celebrate their accomplishments. The government has said it is considering the idea.
"There is nothing wrong with taking pride in the right things," commented President Vaclav Holub when asked about the idea. "I think the commemoration of our fortune, which we owe to ourselves, is a wonderful idea. Still, we must focus on keeping things as nice as they are. We cannot continue to enjoy this prosperity unless we work with our allies and tackle the obstacles that would change things for the worse."
As yet there has been no word from any members of the Three Power Pact regarding the President's words, given weeks ago about the possible illegitimacy of the involvement of the Minister of Security with the Pact. |

From the Desk of the Representative of the Order of ShaffeyJustice He bids me do, as He will judge meDear leaders and citizens of all nations in the region of GTA Forums, We have all seen what this year has brought me here, we have all seen nations plummet into anarchy before our eyes. And each time, it has saddened us deeply. Today, our founder, The 500, is no longer among us, the government of the 500 has crashed, forcing his people into anarchy, or diaspora. We, The Eternal Kingdom of Shaffey, would like to speak to you and ask you to stand up and join us in our plan to revive this great nation. We have watched our region die for too long, but it will all end now. What happened to the cabinet? Founded by Shaffey itself? The half-empty cabinet was not particularly interested in changing the way our region was collapsing around our ears. Was this not the reason we had a cabinet? Don't you feel that all the funds and time spent into creating a cabinet was wasted? Is this the reason that money and all that time was spent? No, I do doubt it.
It is time to stand up, and take the first step, you, the leaders and your people, you must decide what is right. And we believe that allowing Shaffey to steer this region into a new direction is the right decision and we are putting our faith in the fellow governments and people of this great region, because we know that they can tell, Shaffey is the right decision.
Shaffey for GTA Forums. The future is bright.™

| QUOTE (El Zilcho @ Tuesday, Sep 18 2012, 10:54) | | People are busy, quite blatantly, and don't have time for the complex role playing of NS right now. It was inevitable activity would drop, so I think we should accept that for the minute and stop beating a dead horse. When the time comes activity will perk up. |
What about the nations that can be active? They come to the board occasionally and post, but what their activity goes to waste. You yourself only remember NS exists when your position is challenged. OOC: And honestly, do you think we would've lasted this long without K9K9 or my other 'scandals'? That's a part of this.

And I answer issues on NS everyday so that isn't quite the case. And yes we would have, just with less soap opera drama and photographs of you holding up paper in order to be allowed back into the region...
