At first I was a little bit distracted by the fact the character looks like the "I like balls" terrorist from Team America, but when the camera panned to reveal what I assume will be the playing view, I was excited. As a fan of Shadow Complex, I've been waiting for something that looks as good while they get the next one together. The blurb on Tequila Works' site provides a little more insight:
QUOTE (Projects)
In an apocalyptic world where existence is futile, a solitary man treks the American west coast. The year is 1986 and a mysterious disease has decimated mankind, transforming people into killer automatons. Survival is the measure of all in this original cinematic puzzle platformer. Deadlight is the frightening odyssey of an ordinary man fighting extinction like a flame in the desert. Hopeless and unable to escape the horrors of a dying world, Randall Wayne will reveal himself as a natural born survivor.
Deadlight is to be released as an XBLA exclusive title in summer 2012.
Looks pretty promising. Shadow Complex is a good game and this one looks even better. And of course it's a bonus that Live games aren't that expensive.
I thought the game would be awesome, but seeing as the game is in a mario type camera view, i'm not interested anymore
Couldn't agree more. This looks like some random flash game you can find on the Internet. I was hoping for some sort of XBOX version of that survival game featuring the father/daughter on the PS3, but nope!

It's been known (and was fairly obvious after) that it was going to be a side scroller since before the first teaser trailer. Not sure why you two were expecting otherwise. The comparisons to Shadow Complex didn't make anything click?
Looks like a great game after watching those gameplay vids, certainly looking better than i was expecting really. Seems like a very fast paced game so i wonder how long the campaign will last...
As good as games can be this day and age, you can't beat a good old side scroller sometimes.

Finally, something unique and original! The style of play reminds me very much of PS1 title Heart of Darkness. Will follow further progress on this game. Looks promising so far.
Where did my post go? Ho-hum must've switch off my PC without hitting reply! Anyway, it was a post about how that story trailer reminded me of 70's and 80's TV shows like The Incredible Hulk
The atmosphere is going to be the star I think. Sounds like they nailed it.
I got this and it's worth every cent of it's 1200 MS points. It looks stunning and it's a great, linear platformer. It's not as smart as Limbo but I think it's visuals, and what they add to the experience, make for a great game overall.
Personally I'd give it a solid 8.5. It's also got several unlockables. The most interesting of which is the old handheld lcd games which you can play. There's about 5 of them to unlock and they are actual games from the '80s.
At the end of the day, people are spending 1200 points for a few maps on COD so this should be a no-brainer.
