EPIC! That's the only word that could describe the awesomeness of the last roleplay. I think this Madden Crime Family storyline is going to work out well, especially with Tony's hospitalization, Tommy's incarceration, Tiny's escape and Timmy and Tyler yet to make their appearances. I was thinking of doing a piece of the Madden storyline by doing one or two scenarios, followed by one of the five brothers either being arrested, killed or flee. Maybe we could have a main scenario tree, currently being this Madden squabble, making appearances every week until it finally ends, along with having cameos with returning character such as Orton the Informant, the Maddens, of course and family members of Billy and his father, the ones who drowned out by the tip of Northern Algonquin. These are just ideas that I think would attract more people into joining. Anyway, I love how it can just be two or three people playing and it can be as fun as having ten. I'll be on next Saturday for more crook-bookin' and cop-killin' action, unless something else comes up which I highly doubt. Good to play with you AJ, James and Clefe. See you guys around.

Roleplay report EMS Log Mar 24th, 2012 |
- Broker resident Randall Orton was arrest for attempted burglary in an alley off of Exeter Ave in North Algonquin. Suspect was found claiming he was trying to clean windows with a lock pick.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute in an industrial area along Ivy Drive North. Mitchell Sales claimed his girlfriend had scratched his car. The two began arguing and were shouting loudly when police appeared on scene. While discussing the matter, the female suspect managed to remove the vehicle from the area. Sales vocally claimed his girlfriend was a "Witch." The female suspect left the area and is wanted for further questioning. - Sgt. Eric Michaels and Cpl. Alex Petrovic responded to a fight on Ruby St. after a motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle. The ensuing argument led to shots being fired, severely wounding one the combatants. The shooter, Damen Felger, evaded and open fired on police, resulting in a standoff in a storage area on the west side of Algonquin. While attempting to escape, the suspect was fired upon my Sgt. Michaels and brought down.
- A prostitution sting operation conducted by Cpl. Alex Petrovic was conducted along Columbus Ave with some success. One "John" was apprehended, but the charges were dismissed by the District Attorney due to lack of sufficient propositioning.
- Police responded to a bomb threat in front of the Seagull Theater in Star Junction. A white vehicle was parked in front of the theater and left abandoned. Department officials responded, investigated the situation and apprehended the drive after a short chase.
- Officers responded to a pair of men wrestling in the street. At least one man was under the influence of Meth, and was very excited about the upcoming Wrestlemania. After trying to wrestle with police, he engaged another man on Topaz St.. Both were injured and taken to Holland Hospital Center.
- Department officials responded to a call that a boy had fallen into the Humboldt River. Sgt. Michaels was hailed by the boy's father, who was frantically calling to his son. After several minutes of searching, Sgt. Michaels was able to find the body of Billy McGrath, but was unable to resuscitate. Despondent and suicidal, father James McGrath had a mental breakdown, stealing Sgt. Michaels' police vehicle and driving it into the river. Despite his best efforts, Michaels was unable to free the man from the vehicle and he drowned.
SEVERE INCIDENT REPORT The following incident report resulted in the death of two Department police officers.
- at 15:31pm Sgt. Eric Michaels responded to a call of a suspicious person in the courtyard of the Galveston Ave. Projects. When on-scene, Sgt. Michaels identified Tony Madden, a prior offender with whom Michaels detained for loitering weeks prior. Michaels approached and questioned Madden who was standing behind a resident reading on a park bench. Madden claimed he was helping another man read his book. The resident acknowledged that Madden's help was unwelcomed. The courtyard also contained a children's playground. After Madden was fined for loitering outside of an Uranium St. daycare center in their last engagement, Sunny View Kids obtained a restraining order. While Madden's presence in the park did not violate said order, Sgt. Michaels became concerned for the safety of youth in the area. The tense questioning quickly escalated when Madden attempted to pull a gun on Michaels. Reacting quickly, Michaels was able to draw his own weapon and incapacitate Madden. Madden was arrested and taken to the Holland Hospital Center.
- at 17:25, Lt. Harold Wright responded to a civil disobedience call on Bismark Ave. Tommy Madden, brother of wounded suspect Tony Madden, was protesting near the North Holland Police station. Madden was disrupting traffic, claiming all his brother was trying to do was read "To Kill a Mockingbird." Wright engaged Madden, convincing him to quietly enter his car. Madden was taken to the station and placed in holding for questioning. No charges were filed and Madden was soon released.
- at 17:59, Lt. Harold Wright made contact with a criminal informant regarding an escalation in violence from yet another Madden sibling. Lt. Wright and Rookie James Irwing went to investigate the information, leading them to a construction site on Xenotime St. According to the informant, Tiny Madden was raiding the site, somehow gaining access to gold. Because of the loss of both officers, the full details are unknown. Both Lt. Wright and Rk. Irwing approached the site cautiously, but stepped up their response as Madden opened fired on both them and the civilians in the area. Madden fled up a fire escape adjacent to the site and continued to fire. After his success with brother Tommy Madden, Lt. Wright attempted to negotiate with Madden while Rk. Irwing attempted to access the roof. Madden's consistent firing forced Rk. Irwing to act. He climbed the fire escape and open fired on Madden with his service pistol. Madden returned fire with his shotgun, killing Rk. Irwing. Madden then demanded a helicopter to assist in his escape. With a lack of backup or a certified SWAT squad available, Lt. Wright called on police air support to assist. As negotiations continued, Madden demanded that Lt. Wright, not the LCPD pilot, fly the suspect and the helicopter to an undetermined location in Alderney. Lt. Wright complied, and the two flew over the West River toward the highrises downtown. With a gun to his head, Lt. Wright made a last ditch effort to incapacitate Madden. He guided the aircraft over one of the highrises and attempted to jump from the vehicle, allowing it to crash to the ground with Madden inside. The attempt was unsuccessful. Lt. Wright was killed on impact and Madden was able to survive the resulting wreck. It is believed that Madden stole a vehicle. Alderney police made contact with Madden on the North Side of the island but were unable to intercept.
- 19:10, Police raided the homes of all five Madden brothers, finding numerous weapons and firearms. None of the brothers were found and warrants have been issues for Tiny, Tommy, Timmy and Tyler Madden. Tony Madden is still in custody under heavy observation at Holland Hospital Center. He remains unconscious and is unable to be questioned. The scope, focus or goal of this group remains unknown.

What a wild week. As you can seen from the police report, last night's RP was a good one. The best part was that it was completely unplanned. A series of unrelated incidents escalated into an excellent final scenerio. Not only did it result in the death of two Department personnel, but it also set up a great storyline. As I said, it was completely unplanned, but it shows what can be accomplished once folks become comfortable with the model and the creativity takes over. While it may just look like a wall of indecipherable text to some, it was a lot of fun to experience.
It's also an indication of what an RP with multiple people can have. We had four cops tonight, each with their own experiences. Unfortunately for xJAMES_JRx, he came in during the last scenario and walked into a bullet. His character, Rookie James Irwing died. The good news is he can make a new character for the next roleplay so post a new application when you can. My character, a Lieutenant, also died. At least it was heroically. Now I have to make a new character and return as a rookie again. AJ's character got mixed up in some police entrapment and left himself open to shady dealings. Too bad you got disconected right before a shoot out. And Stone's character was, as always, rushing into danger with his gun drawn. As you can see though, the DA was unable to prosecute one of your collars. Don't get a reputation for arresting folks that don't commit crimes.
Also, with the death of Lt. Wright, Stonehead's Lt. Michaels now becomes the highest ranking police officer in the department and defacto chief. He should command a great deal of respect during the RPs, and certainly has the opportunity to craft the department as he sees fit. I'll continue to host the RP, but Stonehead is basically in charge of personnel matters.
Again, thanks to everyone who came out tonight. I hope we can get even more next week.

RP tonight is at 7:00pm EST, 00:00 GMT. | QUOTE | | Clefe, take the scenario of a criminal with a firearm putting innocent civilians in harm's way. Do I have the right to use my firearm to take him down in this position? I'm aware if a gunman is killing civilians I have the right to shoot him if I can't make a serious arrest, but if he is not hurting or killing anybody, can I shoot him, or do I have to use a different method to apprehend him? Maybe, for instance, talk him out of it or making an arrest? |
You must use your best judgement. If you feel the suspect presents a direct, lethal threat to you or others, you should respond proportionally. All discharged weapon incidents are subject to review.
