Design by Blaque GambinoAt Project Life we attempt to create a fantasy society where our actions and decisions can and will effect the lives of everyone around us.
Hello everyone! I am Swagtard and I represent Project Life, which is a roleplaying community that plays mainly Grand Theft Auto IV, but also additional games such as Red Dead Redemption. Our games range from military simulation to racing, but our specialty is recreating a functioning society in Life Roleplay. Project Life offers our members a unique gaming experience, knowledgable staff, organization, opportunities, new connections, and above all else: Fun. We take the opinions of our members seriously and strongly consider what members have to say members before any decision is made so if you want to play in a place where you matter you have to join Project Life. We play multiple times a week so the role-plays are almost constant.
We are one of the few communities that requires a screening process to join our community; a simple test to measure the maturity and knowledge of applicants so we can ensure our members only play with the best of the best. The people who created this experience are former administrators and staff from various communities whom all banded together to create the best roleplay experience on the xbox. Our staff is there to help members with questions, solve problems, and create new fun and innovative games.
Examples of some jobs and things to do in our games: ◊ Patrol the streets and countrysides as a police officer wishing to stop criminals in their tracks, or make a little dirty money. ◊ Tired from your shift at the office and need to relieve your stress? Head down to the pub and drowned your sorrows. ◊ Have an itchy trigger finger, mind for crime, and want some quick cash? Join or create a gang and battle the law in your rise to riches. ◊ Take a hunting or fishing trip with some friends on your time off. ◊ Need money fast but can't make it working a 9-5? Hop in one of our street races with your car but be warned: Cops can and will try and stop you in exciting and risky high speed chases. ◊ Attend our colleges for one of multiple degrees including Law Degrees, Doctoriates, Business and more. ◊ Limitless ideas and ways to progress your character and have fun!

GTA IV: Life Roleplay Rules
General Rules:
Random Death Matching - You cannot just walk around killing other players with no purpose. Example: You walk into a Burger Shot, pull out your pistol and kill another player. THIS CANNOT BE DONE unless you have a valid roleplay reason.
Fear Factor - If someone pulls a weapon out on you, you aren't allowed to bring out a weapon of your own unless they say so. You must obey rule-compliant instructions given by this person. Example: Swag points a gun at you and tells you to sit down. You must restrain from pulling out a gun and follow his instructions to sit down.
Metagaming - Using Out Of Character knowledge to further your roleplay character's experience. Example: You read on the forum that a player you are trying to kill lives in Niko's Alderney house. You MAY NOT go to the house in Alderney to kill him unless someone tells you this information in-game.
New Life Rule - When you are killed you have no knowledge as to where you were upon death, who killed you, why they killed you, and how they killed you unless you are informed by the person who killed you. You remember everything else. Example: Officer Mike shoots Dillon in a setup drug deal. Dillon cannot go to the Officer Mike and express anger or revenge kill because he has no memory that the Officer Mike did anything to him.
Revenging Killing - If you are sent to the hospital by another player, you may not find them and kill them in response to your previous death. Example: Swag kills you with a roleplay purpose. When you get out of the hospital you drive to his location and shoot him. This CANNOT be done as you lost your memory.
Asspulling - You cannot pull a two-handed weapon out of thin air. If you want to use an AK-47 in a firefight, you must exit a vehicle or retrieve it from a location and continue to hold it until you store it again. Two-handed guns may be stored in cars or houses if you wish to not hold it anymore. This doesn't apply to one handed weapons. Example: Mike gets a tipoff that police will be raiding his home. He sees them while he is standing in the middle of the street and switches to his AK. This isn't allowed unless he runs to a car that he stored it in to retrieve it.
Car Killing - Your car is not a weapon under any circumstance. It is not to be used in a fight to injure an enemy, nor run over random civilians. The only way this can be used is if your enemy places themselves in front of your car while you are attempting to get away. Example: Mike sees a rival gang member while he is driving in his Sultan. He excels the vehicle forward and kills his rival by running him over. This ISN'T ALLOWED because he injured the rival via car ramming.
Item Use - Don't use what you don't have. You can't use a shotgun/vest/drug...etc if you don't actually own it. Example: Mike sells Dillon some weed but Mike never purchased or planted any weed to sell. This CANNOT be done because Mike never had weed in the first place.
Player Killing/Executing - If you are planning on player killing/executing another person you MUST warn an admin at least one roleplay in advance. If you fail to do this your player kill/execution will not count and you will also be punished. You MUST have a legitimate reason for a player kill/execution. A grudge or annoyance is not enough to take away all of the effort that someone put into their characters' lives and business. This reason must be stated to an administrator and verified by them. If this rule is broken your character can be terminated from the game. However you are allowed to act under the heat of the moment. If a situation arises where you are put in a position to kill someone whom previously did you wrong you can override the Execution rule because a turn of event led you to a perfect roleplay moment. This means that you can only commit the player kill/execution if the person presents themselves to you and not if you went looking for them; if you are seen going out of your way to force interaction with someone you are trying to heat of the moment kill than you will be punished. Example with pre-meditation: You are gang member. Officer Mike keeps harassing you and assaults you on numerous occasions. You talk to an admin and state that you wish to player kill/execute him. They approve and you wait one full roleplay to player kill/execute Officer Mike. This is allowed because you asked an administrator and waited a full roleplayer. Example without pre-meditation: You are a gang member. A rival gang member has put a price on your head and attacked you earlier in the game. You find him completely by himself wandering around on a rode. You capture him and bring him to a secure location than execute him. This is allowed because you had roleplay reason for the kill and the circumstances put you in a position to roleplay out a proper situation.
Capturing - If you wish to capture a player you must either get them with Fear Factor, knock them out, or shoot them to death (not execution just death). They will be in your custody unless you are also killed/captured by someone else in the situation. If you are captured via killing you must go back to the location of your capture and do whatever you captors tell you. Example: Swag and Dillon are fighting the the police. As they depart from the battle Swag is killed by a cop. Swag must return to his death location and do as the police say because he is now in there custody.
In-Game Specific Rules:
Start of the Game - Players begin the game with $1500 that can be used to purchase whatever they wish and give them a jumpstart to success.
Death [Police Disregard This] - If you are killed by another player (non-execution) you must deduct $200 from you current money to pay for hospital fees. If you are killed from an accident such as a car-crash you must deduct $100 from your current money to pay for hospital fees. Doctors will than collect $100 if they are present in-game. This may be bypassed if life insurance is purchased (see below).
Housing and Businesses - Players are often interested in buying property to live in or work out of. In order to do this, they must search through the property list and then contact a predetermined staff member in-game with the information of what property they want. If you wish to start a business such as a cab service you need a building to operate out of. The ways to obtain a building to use for a business is: A.) Purchasing the business legitimately with the actual cash amount labeled on the property page. You WILL receive the revenue if you purchase it this way. B.) Purchasing the business with loans from the banker. You will receive the cash amount asked for your purchase and you will have to repay the bank (with interest) as you get the money. You WILL receive the revenue if you purchase it this way. C.) You may ask a staff member if you can use a building for your business and it will remained owned by the state (see below). You WILL NOT receive the revenue if you obtain it this way and you must pay for the building once you get the money to do so. Jobs that have buildings provided for them will be the Legitmate Gun Dealer, Police, Lawyer, Doctor, and Banker. Only one house may be purchased per player, but any amount of people may stay in an already purchased home if the owner gives them permission whether for rent or free. The only way to collect revenue from a business is to have someone working at it for a daily shift. If you are a business owner you may work at a maximum of two of your businesses yourself, but you will need to hire additional workers if you wish to collect revenue for 3 or more businesses. You may only receive one loan of up to $10,000 per character for business pursuits but loans for schooling are unlimited. You may sell properties back to the bank for 50% of the purchased price.
Play Your Role - You must abide by the rules of your chosen characters lifestyle. This means that if you are a civilian, you will not be participating in large scale drug trafficking, firefights with the cops, or robbing other players. If you do murder someone, it must be with roleplay purposes (they robbed you/threatened you life..etc). Do as a real life equivalent of your chararcter would do in everyday life.
Purchasing a Weapon - Weapons may be purchased legally from the gun dealer or they can be purchased illeaglly from the black market (gangs). A gun purchased from the dealer will give the customer a license which allows the to keep the gun if they are arrested for a non-gun related crime. If they have a gun without a license it will be taken no matter what from police during any arrest and the player will recieve a fine and jail time. The gun dealer may only sell non-automatic weapons including the knife, pistol(s), shotgun(s), and sniper. Any automatic weapon is considered illegal if used by a non-police officer and can only be purchased via the black market. Weapon Prices: Body Armor: Sell for $300 | Receive 50 Glock: Sell for $1200 | Receive $150 Desert Eagle: Sell for $2000 | Receive $300 Pump Action: Sell for $2500 | Receive $400 Auto: Sell for $3000 | Receive $600
Knockout - If two players are in a fistfight and one of the players beats the other to a very low health they "knock them out". The player with the lower health must have his character be unconscious. He does not hear anything that they other players are saying and must do anything that they say for three in game hours.
Facial Reconstruction - This rule only pertains to roleplays with doctors in them. If you wish to change the physical appearance of your character for whatever reason you have the option of facial reconstruction. It will be an advanced procedure that will take up to a day to complete. The recovery period will take the rest of the roleplay. A person can only change to a face of the SAME race. It will cost $3000, which you can take a loan for.
Vehicles - Players must purchase a license from the DMV if they wish to drive legally. Players may drive illeaglly, but if they are caught by police they will pay a heavy fine and do an extended jail sentence. Regular license allows you to ride in non-sports vehicles legally. Luxury license gives you the right to drive sports cars legally but you must purchase a car from the dealership. Boat license allows you to sail boats legally. Pilot license allows you to fly helicopters legally. All car licenses require a driving test to be taken at the DMV. Regular license MUST be purchased before a luxury license can be purchased. Pilots are required to receive flight training by the DMV prior to their being able to fly. Boat license's require no sailing test but does require an oral test given by the DMV. Regular License - $350 Luxury License - $700 Boat License - $500 Pilot License - $10000
College - In order to become a job that require a degree players must have attended college in-game. In order to attend college, players must go to a determined location in-game (Community College = Warehouse in Easthook by Brucie's house | Private College = Middle Park Museum), and sit in the room for 3 minutes (9-12) on Monday through Friday. It takes 6 in-game days to finish community college, and 10 in-game days to finish private college. Private College will cost $5000, and will be paid in cash upon entry. If a player cannot afford college, they may take a loan from the bank. Community college is completely free for players to attend. All loans will be repaid in full with a 25% interest applied to them. Payment options will be discussed between the banker and player obtaining loan when the the loan is requested.
Community College Job List: Forensic Degree - Police inspector for crime scenes Paramedic Degree - Command's EMT in assisting wounded individuals. Engineering Degree - Require to start a construction company
Private College Job List: Law Degree - Lets player become a lawyer. Medical Degree - Heal wounded individuals at a hospital and overlook all medical operations. Business Degree - Business owners get $500 more revenue per property and have a lower interest rate at the bank.
State Owned - If a property is owned by the state, it is temporarily owned by the host just as a means for players to get jobs. State owned properties CAN BE PURCHASED, and will probably only be owned until enough businesses have been purchased for the role play's to go smoothly.
Gangs - Gangs may be established in-game if players meet together and wish to form a criminal empire. The roleplay will be limited to four gangs with a maximum of 4 players per gang, and if you wish to create a gang you must fill out an application in the gang page. Only 2 gangs will be allowed in each role play, with a maximum of 3 players per gang. Gangs are required to make a post on the website with information about themselves including a ranking system, member list, owned property list, and history. Do not create a gang post if your gang hasn't been validated.
Drugs - Drugs are to be sold by a dealer in-game whether it be a lone criminal, or a gang outfit. Drugs may be imported from ship, grown, or purchased from a doctor and/or other dealers. Suggested prices are posted below, but you do not have to follow them. If drugs are imported via cargo ship, a $250 dollar fee must be paid to use the ship. As a drug dealer non-gang affiliated you may purchase the required items to grow and/or make a drug from the general store. You must designate the location of your grow op to a staff member before you start to grow/make your product. The prices for items will be listed on the general store post. The only items that dealers can grow are meth and weed. Any other drug must be imported or purchased from a doctor. For meth a basic chem kit produces 2 grams per role-play which is usable for 4 role-plays and a an advanced chem kit produced 4 grams per role-play which is usable for the rest of the role-plays.
Items to grow weed: Soil Fertilizer A Pot UV Light
Items to make meth: Chem Kit (Basic or Advanced) Cold Medicine Drain Cleaner Bowl
Suggested Prices: Weed: $100 per ounce Cocaine: $50 per gram Pills: $10 per pill Heroine: $25 per gram Meth: $80 per gram
Working - Players may work in up to two jobs per day, as long as they have different shifts for each job, but keep it realistic; A player who is a doctor isn't going to have a second shift as a fast-food cashier.
Job List: This list shows some jobs player may. These jobs are not the only jobs players may have, just a helpful listing of potential jobs to get careers started. If you own a business you get $150 at the end of the game. If you have bought the building you are working out of then the $150 at the end of the game is boosted up to whatever the revenue amount is.
Laywer:$1200 per game. Can charge any chosen price to customer based on the case they are defending them in.
Doctor:$1200 per game. $100 per heal if a player requests a heal (healing lets the injured person obtain a healthpack). $150 per character death.
Cashier: Minimum of $75 per day, but can be offered more by owner of business. Must work 6-8 hour shifts. Works at desk and counter jobs such as fast food, restraunt, sales clerk.
Banker: $100 per day. Additional salary made through fees. A banker is a player that is in charge of providing a safe place for players to put money, purchase health insurance, and take out loans. Loans are only to be provided for the purpose of attending school, and are to be paid in full with a 25% addition to the loan price. Health insurance costs $75, and if purchased players do not have to pay the $150 death fee for the entire game unless they die via not eating. Bankers make money through fees such as Opening an Account, Depositing Fee, Withdrawl Fee, Interest on a loan, and all money paid for health insurance.
Laborer: Minimum of $75 per day, but can be offered more by owner of business. Must work 6-8 hour shifts. Works at outside jobs such as Cargo Ships, Docks, Cargo Transportation.
Bodyguard: Salary discussed with owner at time of employment. A bodyguard works for a company or person, and their job is to guard a building or characters safety with their life. They may help important people avoid injury or death, chauffer around the famous, guard prisoners, or stand watch at a business.
Criminal: No Salary. Criminals make money through illegle activities such as robbery, kidnapping, trafficing, extortion...etc. This requires an extremely good roleplayer because of the lawlessness of their role. Criminals may only commit one violent/potentially violent crime per day (kidnapping, robbery), but drug and weapons trafficing may be done at an unlimited amount. Robbery amounts are as follows: Mugging: $50 Robbing a Store: $300 Kidnapping: $800
Businessman/Real Estate Typhoon: $150 per game. Makes additional revenue by purchasing business and collecting revenue from them. This job can usually only be done once the player has made money in another way so they can afford to purchase said businesses. Business CANNOT collect revenue if players aren't working in their stores, but a businessman may run two of his stores by himself.
Public Transportation: Minimum of $75 per day, but can be offered more by owner of business. The job of a public transportation player is to provide a means of getting around the city for players who do not drive or are stranded. You may receive phone calls and pick people up, or make a regulated route that you follow each game. Vehicles to be used are taxi's and buses. Public transportation employees may charge additional fees for the actual transportation of players and are to inform players of their pricing before players enter their vehicle.
Gun Dealer: $35 per day. Additional salary made through sale commission.. All legitamate gun purchases are made through the gun dealer, and any gun purchased from them will reward the customer with a license for that gun. This means that if they own a license for a gun, it cannot be seized by police if the player is arrested for a non-gun related charge. The gun dealer makes no salary, rather a commission for each gun sale. A chart for prices guns are sold at and commission they bring the Gun Dealer is found below. Glock: Sell for $1200 | Receive $150 Desert Eagle: Sell for $2000 | Receive $300 Pump Action: Sell for $2500 | Receive $400 Auto: Sell for $3000 | Receive $600
Some businesses get perks for owning them which are listed below. Cemetery: If you own a cemetery than every time a player is CHARACTER KILLED (execution not just killed and sent to the hospital) you receive $250.
Cargoships/Docks You can set up trade with other business owners who will pay to use your service. You also get free imports (still limited in the amount you can import)
Police - Will receive salaries based on rank. Get $25 per successful arrest or ticketing. A list of tickets and jail sentencing can be found below. The job of a police officer is to make sure all laws and rules of the roleplay are upheld. This requires extreme patience and a level of roleplay that rivals any other job in-game. Police must use neccasary force when responding to any situation and be careful with how they deal with crimes. All real life crimes are to be enforced such as evading arrest, assault, possession...etc. Police will be forced to check licenses via the forums when people are arrested, transport suspects to jail, and have a deep understanding of laws. If a criminal wishes for a court case, they will be sent to the North Holland P.D., where they may post bail. Time served at NH P.D. does not count as part of their jail sentence. If they wish to skip court, they may go straight to the Alderney Correctional Facility, where their jailtime will begin. Players may not escape from jail unless they are broken out by a seperate player who kills the player guarding the prisoner and frees them, or forces the player guarding the prisoner to free the prisoner. In order to handcuff a player, you must punch their character. List of Fees for Crimes Speeding: $50 Parked Illegally: $50 Running a redlight: $50 Loitering: $50 Wasting Police Resources: $100 Reckless Driving: $200 DUI: $100 and 5 minutes in jail.
