Well, I don't know how I hadn't heard about this yet. Looks fantastic. I enjoy Bond movies more than the other generic action films out there but I'm personally not into the 'shoot 'em up' aspect of it but rather the espionage involved... quiet and stealthy, looking for intel to develop a case then "BAM".

Fantastic performances from Dench, Craig and Bardem. The first meeting between Bond and Silva is electric. Mendes has gone for the "out with the old, in with new the approach" and it works. Whilst also keeping very traditional elements. Casino Royale and Skyfall are two of the best Bond films of he last 50 years.

I think this is genuinely the best Bond film. Although Connery is my favourite Bond, Craig is definitely I think now my second Bond... and possibly in the future might be my first favourite if he fullfils his potential in the next 3 Bond films that he has signed up for.
The story is very fulfilling and it is quite interesting to know about Bond's past (that's why the film is named Skyfall because this is where Bond and his Mum and Dad lived when James was growing up) and it's full of twists and turns, ups and downs that will just keep you fulfilled throughout.
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't put the gunbarrel sequence in the beginning, but they did end up putting it in the end so that was great. .
No film is perfect for me, so I'll give it a 9.0. Honestly, a solid 9.0.

I saw Skyfall last night and while I found it to be a bit too long, I think it's the best Bond film I've seen in a long time. Not only that but this film really confirmed Daniel Craig as the best Bond in my opinion.

Definitely!
Just got back from the theater. Motherf*ckin' Bardem. I love how personal the movie is. It's something that Bond movies tried to avoid in the past. I love it.
Again. Motherf*ckin' Javier Bardem. And I love Daniel Craig.
Call me crazy, but I think M was the real Bond girl in Skyfall. Not Eve or Severine.

Holy sh*t, this was one of the best marketing I've ever seen. Basically, after getting Coca-Cola from a vending machine, they were asked whether they wanted tickets to Skyfall, and then given a challenge to get to platform 6 on the subway in 70 seconds. There's a catch, people will block them, carts, fruit, just like the Bond movies themselves.

Am I the only one who was slightly disappointed by it? I thought it was a good film, but it didn't really feel that much like a Bond film and the plot was a bit strange at points.
I don't understand why Bond and M try to take Silva on by themselves, and in all honesty it makes very little sense. That was the main thing that had me puzzled. Again there is the lack of gadgets which has been a feature of Craig's films, and also the lack of a Bond girl. I mean there was the very sexy Bérénice Marlohe in it, but she had no bearing on the plot and was basically pointless, she can't be called a Bond girl. There was also the lack of a henchman and a couple of other things.
I'm more a fan of the old style Bond films than the newer ones. I can understand that they want to modernise and go in a different direction, but I feel like it's going too far and missing out a lot of what makes a Bond film so great. I find Craig to be lacking Charisma and personality, which isn't necessarily his fault it's just the way Bond has been written in the films he's been in.

Excellent film - thoroughly enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the throwbacks to the old Bond films, with the classic Aston Martin or the very last scene how M's office looks like that from the pre-Brosnan era.
Was anyone hoping thatKincaid would be played by Sean Connery? I think that would have made the film perfect, but that's just me
Was pretty good and I really enjoyed the fact that it was a slower-paced Bond movie and focused a lot on his background hence the title. I also really liked the homage to the DB5 as did everyone else in the theater, heh.
