I think these forums should have a like and dislike buttons because so if people don't like their post or reply or feel it's nonsense or whatever the case they can click the button or if they feel it was a good post or reply than they click the like button. This is nothing more than a small who they feel makes a good post or reply. I have this on my invisionfree forum and I actually like it aswell as my members. But thats for my clan so... If you want here is a link!

It's been mentioned several times. Basically the answer is NO.

I feel that we could give it another try and I don't see how they got "abused"?

If it is not going to improve the experience or convenience it generally gets a no, personally I feel that this is not necessary.

Members are fickle. The amount of times people get annoyed with each other and hold personal beef over the internet is a source of high comedy. If a less-desirable member made any topic, chances are it'd be voted down quicker than Herman Cain after the release of his sex-tape with Oprah Winfrey and Pee-Wee Herman. Unfortunately, we don't have a board mature enough to make it fair.

I doubt V2 will deliver either.

When did I ever say this was facebook? Whenever someone post something maybe we don't feel like typing "I agree to your post" rather than clicking the like button or if you don't agree to what someone said you can do the opposite would just save time.

@GTAIndonesia: And what do you mean V2?

Simply put, a Like or Dislike button wouldn't do much to stimulate discussion. There wouldn't be much point in having a forum if its members would rather hit a Like button instead of actually taking the time to compose their thoughts into an opinion. Personally, I'd rather come across a thread full of real discussion rather than a thread saying how many people Liked or Disliked the OP.

And V2 is just an upgrade to GTAF that's been talked about endlessly. No one knows when it'll happen, or if it ever will.

Here's the thing. Don't just type a "I agree with your opinion" or "+1" post. That doesn't add to anything. If you feel that you agree (or disagree) so strongly that you NEED others to know, then take the time to type up a well thought out post explaining why.

V2 is (supposed to be) a new forum software for the site that has been in development for several years. There's no telling if or when we'll see it.
