So you guys know how much symbolism is used on the show. From the Teddy's eyeball representing The All Judging Eye, to the Fly representing Walt's need for control. Well, here's another possible one for you. When Walt makes the 52 out of the bacon in the opening of Live Free or Die, it also looks alot like the symbol of Omega, which typically means The End. Take a look:
o·me·ga ( -m g , -m g , -m -). n. 1. The 24th letter of the Greek alphabet. 2. The end
I don't know, it's definitely plausible considering all the symbolism we've had in the past. If this does represent the end, than him buying that M60 could actually be used for his last stand. Since Omega is a Greek symbol, and Scarface went out like a Greek tragedy, perhaps we will witness the same fate with Walter White. What do you guys think?

Do you think that the first scene of the season was foreshadowing something in episode 8, or possible something even farther down the road in the second part of season five? It seems like a lot would need to happen (especially to his appearance) in the next five episodes for him to end up there.
As for the omega symbolism, I think it's a bit of a stretch, at least by looking at the still you've provided. In the episode does he sort of pause before completing the 52 to make it resemble omega?
Each episode so far has been packed with good stuff and it seems to be moving along a bit faster than previous seasons, so it will be fun to see what happens these next few weeks.

I personally think the opening of the first episode is a flash foward to the very last episode of the series. I think at the end of this batch of 8, something will cause him to go into hiding. Like Hank finding out about him.
And about the Omega symbol, I thought it was significant because it looks alot like the number 52. Just think back to the Teddy bear teaser... no one knew what it meant. So it could be the same case here.
Holy sh*t. I was just thinking about this; it's pretty far fetched, but hear me out.
So Season 5 seems to be bringing back Skyler's smoking habit. And she is becoming a "problem" again. Back when she was doing the same kind of thing to Walt in Season 2, he was still the petty Chemistry teacher we loved. He wouldn't harm a fly (haha). But now, his ego is getting to the better of him - and he still has that Ricin ciggarite. What if Skyler continues to annoy Walt to the point where he slips in the poisoned ciggarete into her pack - and kills her?
Gilligan said Walt would do something that would change the way we think about him, what if this is it? In my opinion though I would love Walt even more for shutting her up, but morally it would be wrong on top of everything he has done.
He never had the wedding ring in the Live Free or Die opening. Is that because Skyler is dead by the time that scene takes place? So many possibilities!

It's possible that Walt may kill Skyler at some point, which would be the lowest he would ever get. But you must remember that the ricin was inside of a vial, that was inside the cigarette. Walt flushed the cigarette down the toilet, and hid the vial with the ricin behind an electrical outlet.

True, but he could still slip it into a cigarette since he is aware of her new habit.
Yeah, that's possible. He could lace the ricin with the tobacco.
@Otter: Well, if he does kill Hank, I hope it's after he finds out. One of the main driving points of the story is Hank on Heisenberg's trail. I hope they at least have a face off, instead of a secretive death by ricin.

I honestly don't want the show to end in some cliche Scarface way, I mean I know it's being hyped up but if they did end it like that I would be dissapointed. The writers have to be better than that.
Same, and as much as I like Walt, I don't want to see him go out like that.

I'd be totally fine with it. I think it would be a badass way to go out, personally. If I had it my way, I'd rather go down taking people with me (that I hate).
Take this for example. It's alot like Scarface, but the dude has an M60 just like Walt's. Such a badass way to die.

That movie looks pretty cool.
I don't know how Walt will die, I just know he will. I also think that Skyler, Walt Jr., Walt's baby daughter, and Mike will all die. I am not sure about Jesse, Saul, or any other characters.
Other things I would like to see this season would include:
-A flashback with Walt as a Chem teacher, and Jesse as his student and Walt is trying to get Jesse to apply himself, but Jesse just appears apathetic to Chemistry and school in general. It would be kind of cool to see Walt with hair again as well as Jesse with that Season 1-3 hair.
-some sort of interaction between Walt and that one kid that was a total jerk in the first episode, the one that disrupted his class.
-Jesse's family to return.
-Walt on the run from the authorities, most likely after Hank finds out.
On a side note why is no one questiong how Walt has been out of work for so long? I mean he can't really use the cancer as an excuse anymore and he never told anyone about the incident between him and the principal. So how is he explaining his income? Did he just say he retired?

Well, Breaking Bad uses alot of symbolism and foreshadowing. So I'd say it's a possibility. The number 52 looks so much like the omega symbol... it just can't be a coincidence in my opinion.
