| QUOTE (El_Diablo @ Tuesday, Jul 17 2012, 00:27) | are you suggesting Walt might commit suicide-by-cop? or that he's just going to try and shoot it out with another/unknown drug cartel?
neither of these things seem to be within his character. at least right now.
the kind of weapon he bought (belt-fed, fully automatic support rifle) is used for defense, really. it's not practical for carrying around just to have a shoot-out. |
I'm suggesting that he's tired of hiding, he wants the world to know him as Heisenberg. It seems like his cancer has returned, so maybe he feels that the best way to die is like a legend. We know how Walt's pride is, so it would make sense. That M60 could be used to kill a lot of people of course. It could be a new cartel that challenged him and his empire, which made him go into hiding because they beat him. Or, it could be the DEA. Maybe Hank found him out, which is why he goes into hiding. Either way, he intends to take out alot of people. I hope something is revealed at the end of this batch of 8, because I might literally go crazy if I have to wait until next summer to figure out what this all means.

| QUOTE (GTA-King @ Tuesday, Jul 17 2012, 00:16) | I really want to make sense of it. My THEORY is still that he went into the "disappearance" program" Saul offered, which means something bad happened. He lives in New Hampshire for awhile, but grows sick of hiding. He wants to be known as Heisenberg, so with his cancer back, he travels BACK to New Mexico to go down in a hail of bullets. He's done hiding, he just wants to end it all. He's going to go down shooting though. |
My thoughts exactly. I remember Saul talking about a new identity, new name, and Walt's alias can't be traced. I don't think he would go out in a shootout though. Just protecting his self from potential threats. This post has been edited by InstantCClassic on Tuesday, Jul 17 2012, 00:46

The way I see it though, is that they are teasing the ending. Just like they did with the teddy bear in s2. If not a shootout, what else could it be used for? Lawson, the dude that sold him the gun, says, "Good luck, I guess." That's the most telling thing to me. Maybe he knows Walt intends to go out shooting, which would explain the "I guess."
And what potential threats? He changed his identity and moved to New Hampshire. It seems like he is purposely putting himself in this position. He doesn't want to live his life hiding. He wants to follow his pride and go out as Heisenberg. Notice how alone he looks... he's not even wearing a wedding ring anymore. Without his family, and supposedly his cancer returning, he has nothing else to live for. He would rather die a legend, rather than live free and miserable. Maybe he returns to New Mexico, buys the M60, sets it up somewhere... then he calls whoever forced him into hiding in the first place. Whether that's the DEA or a rival cartel, my guess is he intends to take out as many as possible before he goes down.
Vince Gilligan said Walt would become Scarface at the end of this, so I really can't see any other ending that fits. I'll probably be totally surprised though, as usual.
EDIT: I'm leaning towards it being a cartel now judging by what Lawson says.
"I have your word this won't cross the border?"
"It's never going to leave town." Walt replied.
That business in the flashforward seemed pretty attention-seeking. He did the thing with the bacon, made a big deal of it being his birthday, made a point of having driven from New Hampshire, and left a massive tip without even picking at his meal -- that waitress won't forget him in a hurry. It could be attention-seeking. That, or Walt's on a suicide mission and no longer cares about covering his tracks. Lawson telling him "Good luck, I guess" in the restroom sounded pretty ominous.

I think they are going to make Walt their front man, just like they did with Gus. I mean, Gus made like 96 million dollars a year with them, so imagine how much it would feed Walt's ego for him to be on their payroll now. |
Me neither. I have no idea where this Madrigal thing will go to be honest. They may hook Walter and Jesse up with a new lab or they may try to kill them. And it was 96 million for three months of work. Close to 400 million a year |
Why would they wanna kill him, though? Really? |
I have no idea but a big company such as Madrigal can easily find a new cook and they might want to get back at Walt, not just for killing Gus but also for destroying the meth lab which cost millions of dollars and lots of stuff in there were supplied by Madrigal. IF Madrigal made money from this whole meth operation (I find it hard to believe that Gus would keep over 90 million dollars for himself every three months) they will have a motive to kill Walt and since Madrigal is such a big company they will easily find a replacement for Walt but in that case they must be willing to downgrade their product's purity since Walt manufactured 99.1% pure meth and not many people are capable of doing that. Next episode will be about Madrigal and I CAN'T wait to see what will happen. Only four more days to find out. Breaking Bad is a very unpredictable show so anything can happen with this Madrigal thing.

| QUOTE (GTA-King @ Thursday, Jul 19 2012, 19:57) | | sh*t, yeah you're probably right. We also see Mike chatting with that Lydia character, and supposedly she was Gus' assistant aand probably a Madrigal representative. So maybe Mike is trying to hook them up? |
Hey, I was wondering who that woman was! Lydia... doesn't ring a bell. Have we seen her before? If yes, what episode? To be honest, I have no idea where this Madrigal thing will go. This is why Breaking Bad is so awesome. It's so unpredictable This post has been edited by Vormek on Thursday, Jul 19 2012, 20:20

She could quite possibly be his wife. Just saw 'Abiquiu' again, S3E11, where Walt is invited to Gus' home. There are toys in the house and he also talks about his kids. He doesn't speak of their mother, nor do you see (pictures of) any of them. But... i think this Lydia could possibly be his baby' momma. After all, Walt did kill the father of her kids, supposedly, so if she's bad-ass she could come after him. Plus, there is a great angle for a confrontation. Walt could get thrown into a guild-trip by realising he killed a father and husband, a head of a family. A family which is now torn apart. Something he is quite sensitive about, that's the irony. Or is there any evidence that she had different ties to Gus? This post has been edited by Johnny Playert on Thursday, Jul 19 2012, 23:39

Possibly a representative of Madrigal. As for Walt having a guilt-trip... I think he's pretty much past that stage. He's embraced who he has become. He's the the king now, and he loves the power he has gotten.
