The finale was freakin amazing. I almost feel like they could have ended the show there.

I hope season 5 ties up loose ends and doesn't feel tacked on or rushed.

I have high hopes now....

^ Agreed. The show could have ended at season 4, but I'm glad it didn't because it was somewhat of a "happy" ending. In season 5, we will finally get to see Walt at the top of the meth trade, and I'm certain all loose ends will be tied up, because the writers are brilliant.

Also, for those who want to know, new cast member and character details have been released.

Yep. Gilligan is not a fan of leaving the viewers open to interpretation so we will given answers to most questions we have.

^ I don't think it's a very good idea for AMC to spoil so much from the show. I know some people who started watching Breaking Bad during their current re-run of the show and they were into season 2 and caught the "The king is dead" promo during a commercial break.

Exactly what I think as well. It's a bad choice of a marketing strategy, and it could turn people off just because of it. Luckily for guys like us though we are already caught up.

It seems like it's hard to avoid spoilers this day and age. Hell, even movie trailers are riddled with spoilers and they basically give away the whole plot.

That dark music they play when something bad happens is cool and creepy at the same time. It happened with Jane, the Walt/Jesse conflict, and Gus's flashback.

Hey guys!

Just checking this thread after GTA-King pointed it out (I've never read any non-GTA related part of this forum before tounge.gif)

I just love this show and I'm kinda grateful to become a fan after Season 4 ended (Watched the whole thing from scratch this summer, err..your winter of 2012). I ate the whole show within a week and remained basically spoiler-free until I had the smart idea to enter AMC's BB official site...

Damn, the show might be awesome but the way they handle its promotion SUCKS. I was at the beginning of S4 when I've seen the final image of Gus right there in the front page of the site!! Thank you very much AMC. It's like they think every guy interested in this show is already up-to-date or something.

------

Anyway. Regarding some things said before:

- I'm surprised they didn't use the "Walter Jr becomes an addict" plot already. Ever since S2 I was thinking "and now it's when they are going to do it", yet it never happened. While it would be nice to see how Walter White reacts to it, I think for the time being Jr. is better off eating his cereal. LOL, the poor guy didn't get any development, did he?

- I think Walter used to hate Hanks, but now that their luck made a turn of 180º degrees, he has nicer feelings towards him (He was actually mad at Gus when he found out the shootout was Gus's fault). Mind you, I'm not saying Walter likes Hank, but now he feels superior. It's the exact opposite of their relationship in S1 and S2. There are a couple of moments when Walt would look at Hank like he wants to strangle him right there and now.

- Walt will end up being shot, the question is... by whom? The cancer might come back in full force now, but it won't make it in time to kill him.

That's it for now. I'll be here after each episode just to discuss stuff. Such a great show, every ep has a quotable phrase. smile.gif

^ I am also grateful for this show. My buddy showed it to me on Netflix about a year ago. He told me what the plot was, and I was rather intrigued. Watched all of season 1 in one night. It just fascinates me how a good guy can slowly turn into a bad guy. It makes you wonder what YOU would do if you was pushed into a corner like that. Also, I love the fact that the show is pretty much a modern version of Scarface... which is my favorite movie of all time.

I always thought this would be an interesting aspect to the story. It would be tragically ironic because Walt's own son would get addicted to his product. Remember in season 1 when Walt Jr.'s friends pressured him into buying beer? Well, what if the same friends got ahold of some blue meth and pressured him into trying it? It would be an interesting twist. Season 5 could be his time to shine.

Agreed. You can definitely tell Walt didn't like being belittled by him. I think during the party in season 2, Walt's inner feelings towards Hank came to the surface. He HATED Hank for not letting his son drink. Walt now sees himself as the alpha male, especially now that he's the kingpin. It's going to be interesting to see what happens.

It would make sense for Jesse kill him, but you know how the writers are. They're unpredictable. As for the cancer, it's possible it could return. Calling it right now, the cliffhanger for part one of season 5 will be Walt sitting in the doctor's office and gets the news that his cancer is no longer in remission, but it's starting to spread rapidly.

Looking forward to chatting with you after each episode! icon14.gif

I think killing off Walt would be a pretty obvious and cheap thing to do. I want something unpredictable to happen.

(Major spoilers below! Don't read if you haven't seen all seasons!!!)

I don't agree. They could kill Walt but still make it original. For instance, I knew that Gus would die in season 4 because I was stupid enough to read the IMDB boards while watching season 2 but his death came as a total shock to me. I was amazed even though I knew his death was inevitable. When he walked out right after the explosion I thought to myself "AAAAW HELL NOO! He survived one of Walts attempted murder AGAIN!" But then the camera slowly revealed his blown off face and I was all like "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU THIS IS CRAZY". It's almost the same in Walt's case because most of us believe he will die but I'm sure his inevitable death will be amazing. So IF Walt is going to die in season 5 they will not do it half assed if you know what I mean.
Maybe he will die from his cancer and we see him on his death bed crying out to his family telling them about the horrible things he's done and that he's sorry. That would not be a spectacular way for him to die but it would be very dramatic and emotional.

Dude, the entire scene with Gus was magical. When he got out of the car and that music started I was jumping up and down like a cheerleader. I was never so excited watching a TV show or even a movie. It was spectacular. If they want to kill off Walt, they have to top that scene. That is very difficult.

Also, f*ck spoilers. This is a topic for season 5. Those who didn't watch all 4 seasons shouldn't be here.

During that last scene with Gus, I knew it was time for him to die. That epic music combined with his long close-up made it pretty obvious. But when the explosion happened, and he walked out of the room, I remember standing up from the couch and putting my hands on top of my head. Then, once the camera panned around to his face, my hands dropped and my jaw fell open. I was literally speechless until it showed the Lily of the Valley in Walt's backyard and I screamed, "OH MY GOD HE POISONED THE KID?"

This show does that to me. Plays with my emotions.

Also, about spoilers. Obviously there is going to be some from past seasons in here, because it's the season 5 thread. Do you guys think we should keep all spoilers regarding season 5 in spoiler tags though?

I just finished "Crawl Space". God damn, someone give Cranston another Emmy! That ending scene....so intense.

Only unaired stuff. My view on it is, "if you're not caught up, get the f*ck out of here, you f*cking f*ck". Promos attached to the credits should also be tagged. It's the season 5 topic. We should be able to discuss season 5 freely.

^ I agree. The topic title says season 5, so it's going to be about season 5. Spoiler tags would start to get annoying anyway. As for promos and stuff, I personally think it will be hard to avoid those. Not only are they usually shown after each episode, but they also pop up at random during commercials. If you think about it though, they really don't give too much away.

Oh, and if something gets leaked, like Gus' face for example, just keep it the f*ck out of here. That's my opinion.

EDIT: Updated the OP to remind people. icon14.gif

^ Apparently the guy who leaked the picture of Gus' face said something about season 5 and I hope he's wrong this time. I won't post what he said about season 5 but it actually sounded like something the writers would add to the show. I think I will stay out of the IMDB message boards from now on. sad.gif

Yeah, please don't post it, lol. It's very tempting to know what he said, but I'm going to have to fight the urge. I don't want anything ruined for me. But yeah, if I was you Vormek, I'd stick to this place for discussion.

Yep, the hell with IMDB sad.gif I'm glad that the "leak" wasn't crucial for the plot but it might ruin a "surprise" moment so to speak.
And yeah, you should fight the urge to know what he said. Trust me, you don't want to know this one. If it turns out to be correct you'll be glad you didn't find out about it beforehand.
I just pray to God this leak isn't real. Only 15 days left guys! Woohoo! Two more weeks!!!
