not just SOPA/PIPA with their broad "outlaw everything that may be copyrighted", but this whole witch-hunt against "piracy" is just going to be a huge suicidal manouver by the big entertainment corporations
they can't understand that we, as a generation, take full advantage of the digital means of file-sharing embedding it in our basic entertainment consume, without "piracy" there would be very little recognition of the movies/series/games/etc they make, and the whole industry would just die off, because more and more people are growing tired of the usual crappy means of "pay for TV and a bunch of stuff you don't like so you can get one show you do" and "pay for overpriced DVD's"
we are using a new mean of entertainment and they just can't keep up, so it starts the grossly unfair attacks, even hitting innocent parts of the internet too. think of all the honest to god, indie developers/artists/musicians/etc who posted their stuff on megaupload/fileserve/filesonic just to get some recognition and now are swept aside like worthless dirt the corps think they are
the big ones are trying to force down our free cyber-throats the very same kind of tiranny they own in the real world and are desperately trying to win here too, because humans are greedy bastards, specially the ones that own and rule everything already
