| QUOTE (Snake Without a Tongue @ Thursday, Feb 9 2012, 19:08) | | Sounds incredible, but I'm a little put off by the Ellie character. I don't understand why developers keep insisting on putting tag along NPCs in games. I don't remember a single time in the history of games when a gamer has praised a NPC escort mission. |
I'm the same, I don't really enjoy playing games that have AI allies since they're usually a burden that you have to keep an eye on. But, as long as they're smart and don't get in your way most of the time, they can actually be well executed imo - like their Uncharted series, for instance. Plus, there is some consolation to be found in the article: | QUOTE | - Ellie will be very capable and won’t get in your way - “We know if the entire thing is an escort mission you’re gonna hate it. The easy thing for us to do is every time there is combat she just hides somewhere and then she comes out at the end. We gave ourselves the insane challenge of, ‘How do we make her a part of the combat space?’” - Players won’t have to worry on blaming a game over on Ellie as long as they don’t purposely lure enemies to her position or completely ignore when she’s obviously in trouble |
I, myself, love the Uncharted series so I'm all over this game.

I bought Uncharted 2, after a rent originally, but my BD drive is bunkers, so.... Uncharted 3 will have to wait, but it was my first next gen game, and it was a worthy purchase! I believe with all the love of AMC's Walking Dead and the Zombie lust still alive, this game should garner a following. I'd finally got a chance to watch a lot of Walking Dead, and a game like this can be a fun experience perhaps more for fans who don't always go for Horror gaming, and who knows if it concentrates on horror. I hope for many dimensions to the game play, so it doesn't fall flat. They have strong narrative like Rockstar, which is required to keep games fresh
