Jamie Fox's casting doesn't excite me all that much.  QT offered it to Will Smith first but he turned it down.  That would have been better.  If Kurt Russell if definately in it then I'm excited for it.

Jamie Foxx is a solid actor in his own right. He can handle his own. Collateral? Word.

Yeah Will Smith is great, but Jamie Foxx is Brilliant as well, his performance in Collateral was fantastic.

He did well in Law Abiding citizen too, and i haven't seen "Ray" but apparently that was excellent as well.

I know he's a pretty good actor, but I couldn't see Smith in a Tarantino movie anyway. He's a bit too polished and slick. He's like a blockbuster action movie personified in an actor (which I guess is why he is always in those movies). There just doesn't seem to be enough rawness or grittiness in his style for it to work on a Tarantino flick.

My opinion on Tarantino is pretty invalid though, I've still got Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill (both) sat at home on a shelf waiting to be watched.

Tarantino has yet to make a film I haven't enjoyed, even though each subsequent film becomes harder to watch.

Character development seems to be his one major weakness. I don't think he's written a protagonist I've given a damn about. Hope that changes with this movie.

I still haven't seen that, but several people have told me it was well worth a watch.

Tarantino is a decent director with an incredibly vast knowledge of film, however, his fans have a tendency to overrate him and praise him like a god.

Anyway, his masterpiece in directing was Inglourious Basterds and I doubt that he'll make anything like that film again. However, I'm sure he can pull of a great spaghetti western as well, especially seeing as how Inglourious Basterds had a lot of spaghetti western elements.

In any case, I'll be seeing this.

I agree that Tarantino fans often overrate him. The movies of his that I think are good are great, but when he misses he misses hard. I think Pulp Fiction is his master work rather than Inglourious Basterds, though it is definitely a bad ass film.

Dude, watch Pulp Fiction today, son. That is a f*cking classic. Don't put it off any longer.

His fans over-rate him, while others bemoan his talent, to be honest Quentin Tarantino has never really had an easy ride, but I will say this: he is a good director and while I haven't been desperately enthralled by his latest pictures (but I will say that they were good and I enjoyed them), I am still looking forward to seeing Django.

My title wasn't TOO bad, it had a nice ring to it, but I know it was seemingly tricking you into the topic! haha
I like an interesting cast, and then an equally as interesting concept or premise. At least, that's on the road to a good movie

Wow.

I had heard of this a month or two back, but looking over the cast list now..good God! Some f*cking cast. Jamie Fox is a little suspect though. Not a huge fan of his. Idris Elba was outstanding in The Wire and personally, I'd have preferred him.

Tarantino is pretty kickass though and I'm sure he'll put together a hell of a film. I dig all his work...Jackie Brown and Kill Bill, in particular.

Most people wanted Elba. I really did. And in second place, I wanted Smith. But Foxx... ehhh.

Idris Elba was linked to that role too. That would have been sweeet.

All the new cult actors he's put in there sound amazing. Cohen, Johnson, Remar (!!) and LaPaglia are all amazing additions.

Edit: And oh ma gawd, my eyes completely missed the name "Michael Kenneth Williams". Best. Tarantino cast. Ever.

Idris would have been far more interesting than Jamie Foxx. Foxx is a good actor no doubt but I'm just not that big a fan.

If Leo DiCaprio and Kurt Russell are definately in, and have good parts, then I'm there. Huge fan of both those actors. They always hit it out of the park.

I'm more hyped for this than I thought I'd be. Especially after seeing those two beautiful images. I can't wait to see what Tarantino is going to do with this. We should expect something twisted and genius. His style.
