You said you have modified the LS map but when I replace my files by your LA folder, I don't really see any changes on the map.

I don't know what you intended to do but if you wanted to remove some trees, palms, f-ckcars etc. from the map in order to make it feel just like the PS2 version, you forgot to put the -stream.ipl file located in gta3.img in your mod. I know that because I also made it in my game version. I can help with that if you want.
In a whole, I made around 30% of the LS map. I already have adapted LAe and LAe2 to PS2 version in my game, and also made the LS cemetery just like the PS2 one. At the beginning, I just wanted to do it for myself because I thought people don't really care if some trees, palms are added on PC but, you know, I'm kind of fond of the PS2 version. The fact is it takes a lot of time to compare the PC map with the PS2 one thanks to PS2 HD video gameplay on YouTube I found or whatever other websites. It could be mistakes because of the low draw distance on PS2 so I took care to make the better adaptation I could. Anyway, I don't have a lot of time for now but if you really want, I can try to adapt the whole LS first and see what changed on the whole map then. I will add some screens when I will have time just to show you the differences.
edit: I finally have time, so there are the screens:
Grove street, as you can see several things have been removed.
Cemetery adaptation, I replaced "new PC trees" by the originals on PS2; two palms behind the orange building; removed some yellow bushs aren't present on PS2
Work on cut-scenes as I know people will ask for it.

Ok, guys, I have an alternative way how to make a sun haze. We can ask DK22Pac's permission for Lensflares script. I got a first attempt to make a sunhaze using this plugin, but it need some more good textures. But this plugin has one disadvantage - haze and flare displaying in cloudy, foggy and other weathers. Here's some attempts (sry for bad textures):
It was tested in my custom timecyc.dat (not PS2 adapted one) so this flare is totally compatible with any timecyc file. Soon make a video-test if someone doubts about fake pics.

I think for first attempt both is good enough. I just put three flare halos in sun position so there's so bad texture quality. If put only one theres will be a very low brightness of that haze effect. Here's one more (countryside sun):

When does a new Sunhaze Build release? it'd be very great to test it out
Soon. When I get a permission for using custom lensflare plugin, when I fix all haze sizes and when I make better textures (in more good quality). I hope this will work on everybody's game. Tentatively scheduled on Friday. There will be only sun haze test. All known bugs I said (that sun flare and haze is working in any weather).

Ok, I wrote DK22 ask for permission to use his plugin. So, this is final sun haze configuration (already made it). We just need to wait DK's answer so if he will be agreed, we'll start piblic testing. Here's video (on custom timecyc):
Maybe I should make a VCS version too. Like in PSP: It's similar with SA's one, but flares is more transparent, has same color and haze is always bright orange. Haze and flares enables in VCS in any weather (at least in PSP version, I don't know what in PS2 because I've not played it), because all weathers (rain, fog and cloudy) is half-sunny. If DK agrees, this ASI of sunhaze will be as main, my script will be there too, but it will be optional.

Good job on making the PS2 lensflare texture mcism I wish that it could work on SAMP(yep I've checked that mod on SAMP , the lensflare doesn't appear at all O_O) xD in MTA the lensflare is enabled but in SAMP it isn't >.<
