True. lol.gif

Actually there's a reason for that. It's clear mix of the paper rip from the mysterious GTA4 poster and the original layout of the southeast area of the original Los Santos.

The maker of the map can correct me if I'm wrong. tounge.gif

EDIT: Original post if you want the original file as inspiration.

Thank You! I'ts actually is based off the rip on the GTA 4 EFLC Manual, Old Los Santos, and The General Geography of the Southern California Coast. user posted image

I noticed something that I found very odd about the trailer.

OK in reality the Hollywood sign faces south right?
But when we see the aerial shot of the city, ahead of the plane (which would be south) and to the right of the plane (which would be East) we can obviously see mountain ranges in the distance. Now logically thinking, I found this odd because to the south and east of LA there are beaches right?

Hell I'm probably wrong about something and don't even notice it. But I still thought I would share.

South and WEST of LA are beaches. Mountains are in north and east. So I think it is OK, nothing odd.

EDIT: In LA, mountains pretty much span the entire northern edge from west (Malibu and Santa Monica Mountains) to east (San Gabriel Mountains).

ypu ppl still dont get that the map cant be landlocked if there are pilotable planes in the game.

Yes, it still can be landlocked. Rockstar would just have to make some algorithm to make endless desert and coastal areas. It has been done in video games before, a long long time ago. Flight Unlimited 2 (which is a 1997 flight simulator set in San Francisco) had algorithmically generated scenery when you went away from San Francisco.

Or the game could just turn your plane around when you go too far

It' might possibly be after all in the original San Andreas. there was infinite ocean on all sides, so i don't see why that couldn't be implemented here.

And regarding the mountains, in L.A. the Santa Monica Mountains stretch from downtown Los Angeles all the way to the Pacific Ocean west of Malibu. So the mountains to the west are nothing to worry about.user posted image

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but in the trailer, the blimp doesn't move. Could that be used to figure out the locations easier ?

I didn't notice it is always between Downtown and Venice. I can use it for the location of the car burning (more to the north than on my previous image). Thanks.

Does anyone have any guesses where the Los Puerta Freeway might be, I plan on locating it in the trailer and posting it here. Right now i think it might be here. I think that may be a freeway based off of I-10 because it travels east-west, while I-5 is North-South.

This is what I dont get, this image shows that Downtown LA is south east of the Hollywood sign (look at the compass) yet in the trailer, the plane is flying south west of the sign but still going towards downtown. WTH?
