The sirens I would like to see on the game for police cars would be: Federal Signal SS2000 Smart Siren for the LSPD. Federal Signal PA300 used by County Sheriff Dept. and some others.

The thing I hated about the GTA 4 cop cars were the lights on top. They just never seemed proportional, and were too tall. I would like to see the lights be one of those thinner solid strips going across the top. And while the Crown Victoria definitely gives that LA stereotype cop car, it would be cool to see variations of vehicles, like also a Buffalo cop car, and a truck cop vehicle. depending on your area for which you would see most. Lately I have been seeing more and more Dodge Charger cops around Houston.

I agree the lighting affects were very cheesy in GTA IV and the lights looked very weird. To be honest, the police lights on the IV police cars looked too cartoony in an HD world.
The lighting has improved somewhat, for example we have a more transparent light bar, the lighting doesn't look too retro anymore (but it has some work to do) and the lights have better reflections. Look at the black guy getting chased by the cops scene. You'll notice that the reflections are far superior, as the lights reflect from the walls and the puddles. I think that the crappy 90s lightbar might be replaced by a newer one and we'll see better lighting, possibly on par with the Saints Row games (which had pretty good police lights).
To be honest, I doubt we'll see LED bars that are on par with modders since they might be somewhat complex, but sirens on par with Saints Row are definitely not out of the question.

To be fair, it doesn't really say much for Rockstar if a bunch of Joe Soaps sitting at their PCs can best them in what's, ultimately, a minor point of a videogame!
Rockstar should have these modders looking at the V ads with their jaws on the floor. Not looking at the V ad thinking "how'll I mod that out?".

Yeah, lighting is a minor part of the game, but then when I starting seeing much better lighting effects not only on mods but other games, the IV lights wanted to make me cry.
But like I said, the lights don't have to be uber-complex. They can just be simple but still modern like Saints Row.
Does anyone see ways the police computor could be used online?
I think that it could be used for normal online internet access like the regular computers in the other parts of IV. It can also show current police and emergency calls throughout the city, Wanted Criminals, and Search for Criminals. The calling police back-up should be removed from the computer and put in somewhere else in the car. The basic internal technology of the car and all of the other emergency vehicles should be improved, but then again, we haven't yet seen a Grand Theft Auto game where we saw the inside view of the car while driving.

I agree with you on having police back up removed and put somewhere else. I would love to see the back up effect really work in the way it was intended to be. If i'm chasing a suspect rather on foot or in vehicle I should have that back up. One thing that bothered me about the back up effect it only worked when you were seating in the car . Half the time know one ever showed up.

That would be a pretty good idea. Doing police scenarios in multiplayer exactly like you do it in single player. Maybe having a different bottom used for the radio to call for backup? Anyway, if you are in an rp game, you could use the radio and anyone else that is in a police vehicle could answer your call to help, NPC or player.
