But I can't wait to see what the comet looks like. |
On a serious note, why not? There's more similarities with the Comet than the Super GT. |
I agree, does look like a new comet to me! | As I said before, this car is the New "Dewbauchee V8 Roadster/Spyder". Also, this car looks Nothing like a Comet/Porsche 997 Turbo or a Super GT/Aston Martin Vanquish.

<new red car> <Super GT> <Comet>
Here's a three image comparison. Sorry for the largeness. |
Look at the badge on the bonnet/hood. That's the Dewbauchee logo from GTA IV.

That logo was only seen on the Super GT. If the new car was the new Comet, it would bear the Pfister badge. Seeing as the car looks quite different to the Super GT, we can presume it will be a new model, based on a mix of a Ferrari and an Aston Martin. | You're right. The model appears to be based on the Aston Martin, which is also the same vehicle brand that Super GT sports in GTA IV.

Posting this here, because it does not merit its own thread, though I was under the impression this was only for trying to identify vehicles from the trailer. | QUOTE | We all know the traditional GTA formula, create a sort of generic yet still identifiable version of a real car, giving it a fitting name and leaving it at that. With GTA IV, we got vehicle makes (though they were sloppy), and all sorts of variants on most of the cars. Now, I think that GTA V is up for the next jump in vehicles - Multiple generations (ie. model years) of the same car. TBOGT already started it with the updated Schafter (barring the Pickup in GTA I and the Police Car in SA), so perhaps GTA V will make it happen for several or even the majority of the cars.
For those who don't get what I'm saying, I'm saying multiple versions of one car model, each with a marked difference in age. For example, lets take what we could do with the MERIT.
In GTA IV, we had the Merit based off an 03' Impala. In GTA V, we perhaps not only get that exact same car we get more versions of it. For example, we could get a newer Merit, or a slightly older Merit, harkening back to the days of San Andreas, or we could even jump back really far and include a classic Merit from the 70s.
We could include two Merit versions, or even all four, not even counting any variants that they might have. Perhaps many of you might not be excited about the idea applied to the Merit in particular, but I think that it could work pretty well. There are only two issues in my mind.
1.) GTA V has to have a lot of cars (at least double GTA IV) to make it work convincingly
2.) Some cars that would theoretically be different generations of the same car in real life are already established as different. Like, the Tornado, the Voodoo, the Savanah, the Idaho (somewhat), and the Merit are all based off the same car in real life. Or the 80s Banshee conflicts with the Coquette. This is not a terrible issue, but some cars would have to get axed or modified to become a similar but distinct line.
What do you guys think about this concept? |

What do you guys think about this concept? | | Not a bad idea. I always thought it would be fun to have classic version of some cars in there. Like say an 80s version of the Infernus along with the modern day one.

This car, resembling a jeep/hummer hybrid, is unique because the passengers are able to sit sideways in the bed. |
|
I'd say the car is a BMW but to me it looks more like they'd label it a Feltzer, not a Sentinel and the Jeep would be a Mesa or Mesa Grande. The first pic is a Mesa (jeep wrangler), the second is a different model - notice the rollcages and tailgates. I doubt they'd be called patriot, that would go to the H2 or H3 knockoffs that are sure to make a reappearance in the series.
Great topic! |
At least know what you're talking about before you correct someone. Ubermaucht does only BMW cars and the Feltzer is not one of them, the Feltzer has always been based off Mercedes. Plus, there is a white feltzer seen in front of the army looking Jeep. For you people who are somehow still thinking it's a Feltzer(wtf!!??) here is a picture: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2009...-GTA4-front.jpg This post has been edited by Zulu2065 on Thursday, Jun 14 2012, 03:05
