If you look closely as the plane passes over you can see that these are grape vines. There is a lot of wine production just north of LA in real CaliforniaNapa county California.

I got a question. Do you think that all of the clips in the trailer are in-game footage? To me, a lot of it looks animated, for example the first scene with the dog.

the dog scene is probably the intro of the game same with that running scene fits well together me thinks

Getting back to this, legit or not, if this really was posted hours before the trailer hit; the guy clearly knows more than any of us. How he obtained his information is a different thing, but let's not get into that.

He says that at one point a certain man in power pops up that we are all 'mighty familiar' with. This has led me to rethink some things, is it possible that the old man looking over the city might indeed be Claude or Tommy Vercetti, or even a different older GTA character? Consider the fact that this was posted hours before the trailer, and the only man that really seems to be in power in the trailer, is the man looking over the city.

It's definitely animated, although R* have never done this in a trailer before(I'm talking about pedestrians, not dialog cutscenes).

I think it's him. I posted this in the Tommy thread, but I'm assuming more people will come in this one.

In the trailer we can see two people multiple times. The white older looking guy, and the bald latino/black guy.



Many people, including myself, believe this older man is the narrator. However, just because he may be the narrator, doesn’t mean he’s the protagonist.

Some people also believe in the rumor that there will be multiple characters to play as. I don’t believe that rumor. I refuse to believe that rumor. Other rumors state that this older man is the one and only, Tommy Vercetti. The protagonist in GTA Vice City. The voice does sound like a knock off of Ray Liatto. The older you get, the more your voice changes, in this case, the voice is a bit deeper. If this is set in the year: 2012, then Tommy would be in his 60’s.
Now: People try to dispel this rumor:

Q: Is that older man, who is narrating the trailer, Tommy Vercetti?

A: No! Couldn’t be! That was from the GTA3 era! Rockstar said they would never use that era again! They killed them all off! Duh!


Right?.... WRONG.



Rockstar was asked this question on their Q&A topic.


Q: "In GTAIV, there's a wall that contains the names of previous protagonists in the Grand Theft Auto series, and after some of those names, there are the words 'R.I.P.' or something similar. Is this a way of confirming that the GTA3 timeline is over, or will you bring it back someday?"

The Grand Theft Auto III timeline is not necessarily over - but it is a different world to Grand Theft Auto IV - only the branding and certain radio personalities exist across both worlds. Mhmm. Not only did Rockstar not admit to killing off any of the characters (IE: Tommy), they also admitted that the GTA 3 era/timeline isn’t necessarily over….. So there you go, it’s entirely possible that this GTA5 era could also take place within the GTA 3 era. Older man could be Tommy, from Vice City. It’s not impossible. However, I don't believe he is the protagonist, just a mission giver. So then who’s the protagonist? If it’s not the white older male, who is more than likely Tommy, then who is it?


Like I said before. There are two characters shown throughout the trailer. The white older looking guy, and the bald latino/black guy. I’ll call him “protagonist” for the lack of a better name. Protagonist is seen twice in a convertible. Look at the Protagonists overall appearance. He wears a white tank top, and appears to be mostly bald.





He’s seeing again in a red car fleeing from the police.



And POSSIBLY a third time in this jewelry heist mission. Dude looks a bit thiner, as well as more pale (sort of looks more like Packie from GTA4, and as we all know, him and diamonds don't get along too well.)





Heist mission? Doesn’t that also feature the older dude? Tommy? He kicks open the door, right? You’re exactly right if that’s what you’re wondering. Who said Tommy couldn’t participate on heists missions? After all, he’s done it before.

And here’s where the clues come in. This next part is basically my analysis of the trailer, further addressing my speculation that this older man could indeed be Tommy. These are all small little things I found. Could just be coincidences, or me thinking too hard. Or… I could be right. Check it out.

The narrator for GTAV says:

"Why did I move here?... I guess it was the weather."

If you don't remember, in GTA Vice City, Tommy couldn't go to certain areas due to bad weather conditions.

Obviously the narrator did things in the past that warranted him as a "bad guy". Tommy had loads of money after Vice City. Not only did he basically take the place over with his mobster empire, however he also had his money printing business as well.

Next, there’s ONE thing I found in the trailer, which looks as though it’s a little nod/homage to Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Tommy Vercetti.

REWIND:

Remember when I mentioned the heist? Yeah. Okay, in the GTAV trailer, there are three armed men, with silenced AK47s exiting a vehicle. Just for fun, I’m going to say it’s Tommy, the Protagonist (Bald Dude), and some other dude—possibly the safe cracker which appears to have a darker skin tone. However, there must also be a driver, right? Duh! So lets count that, shall we? Tommy= 1. Protagonist/Baldy= 2. Other dude= 3. Driver = 4.



Now lets go back to Vice City. Possibly, one of my favorite missions. It’s simply called: "The Job". Tommy, assembles a crew to rob a bank. He finds a driver, a safe cracker, and someone for crowd control. Lets add that up. Tommy/Leader = 1. Safe Cracker = 2. Stick up man= 3. Driver = 4.






But yeah, point of all this was: I think Tommy Vercetti was the narrator, and is in GTAV as well, however I doubt he's the main protagonist. Take it for what it’s worth. Could just be little coincidences, could be small hints.

Nice post, hobodealerr. But I really think the bald guy during the heist is not the same person as the bald guy in the red convertible. I'd link him to the guy with the red cap as he seems to have a darker skin tone, matching the guy in the red convertible. I am seriously starting to think that it might be Tommy Vercetti, especially by looking at http://i.imgur.com/E9Tf5.jpg and what Rockstar actually said on the subject of the GTA III saga.
