For those who wonder: yes, it is the official contest. | Yeah, I think it will be Anyway, thanks SP DYOM Magazine Issues #9 |

Greetings from the Co-Leader Hello readers ! Welcome to Issues #9 of DYOM Magazine which is originally made by Nitesh aka AAAAAAA based on Mati's idea. This is me, the new Co-Leader for DYOM Magazine, alifjenius, want to give some words before you are going to read the whole magazine.
Well, this could be my last greeting. Since Nitesh already take over the project again. Welcome back Nitesh ! And also, thanks for promoting me to be the Co-Leader of the project. It's an honour, Nitesh. Thank you very much. We hope the best from you. So please, readers. Enjoy the "could-be-the-last" issues that led by me.
Also, we have a new member who will be the part of the DYOM Magazine team. Welcome the new member, Juan-R. We hope you will give the team all the support and co-operation the team needs to do a good job.
What happened to DYOM section recently ? Well, Notna opened the topic called "Immature People" to open the eyes of GTAF users in DYOM section so they aren't going to act immature again. And this thread is why "immature" is heavily discussed lately in "The Designers Lounge". KaRzY6 opened "DYOM Tour Guide" which may be useful for the newcomer of the section. Many of DYOM designers coming back for the section. Two of them are Juan-R and Skander Blade. Many missions pack are announced lately. And sadly enough, one of the old designer, SatournFan, has announced his "temporary-retiring"
Well, that's the only things that I could say. We hope DYOM section will survived forever till the end of the life. Thanks for the attention

Name: The Harsh Thunder Designer(s): Shiva S Status: Work In Progress Link: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=498636
It is 2003 and Los Santos is becoming more and more dangerous. People were
killed like birds by the Drug lords. The cops were completely helpless. Some
cops were bribed while some honest cops were killed in a horribel manner.
People lost all their faith on the cops. Mr.Zeon and his wicked brother were
ruling Los Santos. They became rich quickly through Drug Business. People
living there hoped that they would be saved by a hero one day.
Words From Designer: Shiva has just wrote the short plot for that MP
and he wants us to play the missions to find the true story. Thank you.

about your gang in San Fierro called Downtown Shooters. When you were still
in SF, your gang is the strongest. Now it's the weakest. But then, you are
back and change everything.
'Don't stop giving up on what you must do' - Thomas Reed

Sam Fisher is retired from his job, being a Splinter Cell. But when he is enjoying his vacation in San Andreas, Dr. Grimsdottir called him. She has a job and Sam is the only person good enough for it. Sam accepts the job under one condition: This is the last time. He has to find and interrogate a man called Kobin. Kobin says that there is a conspiracy that is "bigger than" Sam's situation. Sam is captured by Black Arrow, the organisation he worked for, and brought to an airfield to be killed. Now Sam has to make a journey through San Andreas, to know the truth and to kill the onces who betrayed him...

Immature People... Hello community! My name is Juan-R, today I'll be discussing something very important that happened in the DYOM Support section. As some of you may know, many new, old & semi-new designers have been leaving due to a lot of hateful & negative responses on their work from some newbies & surprisingly, some long time users. Because of this, a fellow designer & friend of mine, Notna, decided to make a topic about it. In that topic they discussed the situation, many fingers were pointed, but a large amount of players & designers opened their eyes, and saw what Notna had to say. The following is a quote from the first post by Notna:
| QUOTE (Notna) | Hey guys. I know, here is much of topics about this. I've been trying to talk about this for many people, but most of the time I am just getting ignored. So I'll make it official now.
Immature people are the reason of the big losts of this community. Quickly thinking of someone, Mati, and recently SatournFan. At least for the time that immature people are gone, as he said in The Designers Lounge.... |
The topic had many arguments as well as great advice from DYOM users. If you would like to read more about this, please visit the following link: Immature People
by Juan-R | Must Read Topic This section will tell the readers about the most interesting topic that posted in DYOM Forum every week. From both DYOM : Missions and DYOM : Support. Well, not every week though, I mean the topics that are very interesting between the released of the 2 magazines
I'm sorry, but for now, the team couldn't get anything special from DYOM : Missions. If it's a "must-read", then it is mustn't be an inidividual missions pack. It's just the same way as "advertising" which we already have an individual section for that. If it's interesting, it should be a "multi-designers" or "DYOM related" stuffs. So sorry, no MRT for DYOM : Missions
For DYOM : Support, the MRT goes to... Immature People by Notna. You could check this thread here. This will show you how to become "mature" in the other person's eyes. It's also contained advices from old users like Nitesh, Doublepulse and the others. You must check this thread if you want to stop being called as an "immature"
That's it for the MRT for Issues #9. Stay tuned for the next MRT in Issues #10
by alifjenius | Walking Through a Mission
Hello everyone. This is KaRzY6 here doing another DYOM mission walkthrough for the DYOM Magazine. Today I will be playing Junior123456789's series, LSPD Stories.
Link to GTAForums topic: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=489226 Link to Mission: http://dyom.gtagames.nl/?act=show&id=15720
Adios, Amigo. (Mission 4)
You play as LSPD officer, Mike Harrison. After trying to stop the vagos for awhile, finally officer Frank Lawrence has located the gang leader. You, Frank and Trent (another officer) drive to the location in East Los Santos. The building doesn't look to dangerous, but Frank and Trent surcure the roofs, while Mike enters the hideout. A few vagos are in the building, mainly with sub-machine guns. After you kill the vagos, you enter a room and kill the gang leader. Back at the LSPD, Trent congratalates you on this achivement. *Mission Passed*
by KaRzY6 | An Interview with Notna
DYOM Magazine had an interview with Notna, one of the old DYOM user designers which surely has a lot of experience in DYOM. He recently opened and lead a project called "Dark Assassins : The Conspiracy", which is the 3rd Multi-Designers Project in DYOM History. This interview is mainly focues on the project. It is done by Nitesh aka AAAAAAA, the leader of the DYOM Magazine project. Here's the result of the interview
How did the thought of starting a multi designer project come to you mind? I've been pretty interested in doing teamwork with other designers. I was too late to participate in the 2nd multi designer project. When the 2nd was over, I immediately started to talk about it with other members of the community, and, now we are here.
How do you feel as a leader for such a project? I am proud of myself, but at the same time, really surprised. When I started the idea, I didn't expect that I would be the leader. But I am glad that the others chose me for the job.
Do you have any fear as a leader of this project? Only, if the people continue skipping their turns. From the 13 people who are currently in the team, 6 have made their mission.
Do you have more or less designers in the team than you actually expected? More. I didn't thought that it would get so much attention. I am pretty surprised.
Are you getting enough support from the team? Yes. I am very proud of all of the guys in the team, and I want to thank them.
Are you getting enough support from the members who are not in the team? Pretty much yes. I am glad and surprised how good reception the project got.
How's the progress of the project so far? We are going slow, as people are skipping their turns. I don't like that, but well, we are going good in quality. And it's good that we don't rush.
How long is the mission pack expected to be? I am thinking that if everyone uses their turn, everyone still has 3 missions to make, so it would be around 40-50 missions.
When a team member gets skipped, by their own will or by not posting a mission within the 3 days, how do you feel? I feel a bit disappointed. I though understand that all of the members have their own things too.
by Nitesh aka AAAAAAA | Opinions from DYOM Users What do you think of the v6.1 health regeneration? A bug or a feature? Why?
These are the opinions from various DYOM users :
| CODE | Notna : I don't have an actual opinion about it. It is pretty good feature, if thinking about very hard missions, but sometimes it can also be annoying. And takes away the realism. |
| CODE | shiva s : I don't like that stuff in DYOM. Because, it reduces the realism. |
| CODE | -S-hark21 : I like that stuff sometimes, sometimes I don't. It's useful if we playing a hard mission. I hate it sometime, because it reduces realism |
| CODE | Arejai : Sometimes, it's good. When we got hit; especially a shot from the enemy, we can find some cover and then wait for the health to be full again. It's some kind of a good feature and much more realistic. Same like a famous game such as COD; when we got shot, it says we need to get a cover. Then, after some seconds, we'll be recovered. So, that's the point. It's not a bug or glitch, it's something usefull. |
| CODE | alifjenius : I think it's not a bug. I mean, the creators maybe already planned and scripted it. Maybe to make the mission easier or maybe a new feature, so the creators tried to test it to users and tell us what we think about the new feature. If it has many negative coments (like "take this feature off", "fix this bug !", etc.), then the creators might take out this "feature"
Yeah, just like the others, it makes the mission more unrealistic. But still, it's a great future to pass a hard mission And anyway, people recently make hard missions because of this new "feature" |
| CODE | Mati : It's something that went completely out of hand. GTA has never featured it and I'm still wondering why it's in the game. DYOM was supposed to stick to the old formula without adding stuff that don't have anything to do with the game and rather seem like a separate mod. If they're going to add additional stuff like health regen, then at least make it optional. |
| CODE | Nitesh aka AAAAAAA: I think of the health regeneration as a feature and not really a bug. It adds some kind of stratagic planning to the missions which involves a lot of shoot outs. It even adds to the realism of the shoot outs. But yeah, in some type of missions in can be pretty annoying where the player is supposed to play with limited health or if you want to keep the difficulty level high. It can also ruin the missions where you may want the player to be using cover to the maximum during shoot outs. If the health regenerates then, the whole point of using cover is not there. I consider it both a feature and a bug depending on the type of missions, so as Mati said, it would have been better if it's optional. |
| CODE | guib : A bug, it isn't really necessary and it is not GTA like. |
| CODE | ThaBoy : Well, I think it makes the game better. I've to watch my words here before y'all going to kill me...but I like it cause Saints Row also got it (please don't kill me) It isn't like GTA but it's helpful a lot of times, but it's annoying sometimes when you don't want that the health recovers. |
| CODE | Doublepulse : The health regen was never intentional, if it was intentional, we would of been told it was in the release notes. With a lot of the posts above me, I had the same idea in mind. If they want it to be a feature, it would be cool to see it optional.
It can be useful for those situations where the player is going to use cover alot, but it is a tad annoying when you have to work around the problems that the regen bug would create. You are pretty much forced to have actors with better accuracy and very little health pickups.
I guess it is useful if you know what you are using it for, but do not mistaken that it is still a bug. |
| CODE | abishai.kochara : Its a feature because like arejai said in COD and GOW life regenerates, this follows in real life as well(depends on body structure) so I like it and support it. |
