|---|
Greetings from the "temporary-leader" Hello readers ! Welcome to Issues #7 of DYOM Magazine which is originally made by Nitesh aka AAAAAAA based on Mati's idea. This is me, the so called "temporary leader", alifjenius, want to give some words before you are going to read the whole magazine.
What happened to DYOM Forum today ? Spammers come around DYOM official website, some haters of our forum come around DYOM Forum, one of our member is leaving DYOM and another one is banned three times. Also, DYOM being inactive lately. Well, maybe this is because we are on holiday. I also being inactive because I have to spare my time with my family
Maybe this is a temporary downfall of DYOM community. We hope we could get out from this time and bringing back DYOM community as soon as possible

He decides to spend every cent he has, and stay there for a year. A banker, Mr Frewt, tells Leroy that his house is now being sold to pay back his debt. Name: Cold Year Designers: Doublepulse and LeonCJ Status: Work In Progress Link: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=486267
This is a "detective" storyline with some similarities to LA Noire; Hardboiled (By Jackal1337); but with added features to really take advantage of objects and thinking. Two Detectives...Two Stories..Two Cases. Both stories crossover and have the same main goal, but each detective is fighting to get the bust for himself. The player will be encouraged to use thinking and observe the objects near him as Invisible checkpoints are placed, take pictures of Clues and work together with his partners.

GTA:III Reloaded
A massive DYOM project is going on, it's GTA:III Reloaded. The mastermind behind the project is Rytuklis. As Rytuklis wasn't updating regularly, ArijeshM_97 started a new topic. Rytuklis is still the leader but ArijeshM_97 is taking care of the new topic and is the co-leader. Many DYOMer's doubted the youngster at the start, but he has proved them wrong. This newcomer has been updating it very often and looks like he is a good co-leader. Many are working hard on this project, by designing the missions. Others like alifjenius and Stuntzman are working over time to get the project back on track. After recent events, ArijeshM_97 was banned. He made a further 2 accounts, Arijesh and The DYOM Fan, which got banned aswell. This was a disaster and a major set back to the project. Then ManDog (A designer in the project), came and made a new topic. Hopefully there will be no disasters from now and the project turns out to be a major sucess. Be sure to support the team and play the missions once they are complete. This project needs nothing but DYOM. No skin, map, weapon etc. mods will be used in this project.

by KaRzY6 | Must Read Topic This section will tell the readers about the most interesting topic that posted in DYOM Forum every week. From both DYOM : Missions and DYOM : Support. Well, not every week though, I mean the topics that are very interesting between the released of the 2 magazines
For DYOM : Missions, the MRT goes to... GTA:VC Reloaded Discussion Topic by KaRzY6. You could check this thread here. This topic discussed another upcoming project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of notorious Grand Theft Auto : Vice City which will be celebrated in October 1st 2012, which is the remake of GTA Vice City's missions using DYOM. Many of participants vote to use San Andreas map to remake Vice City mission. So far, there are 9 participants in this project. They are : abishai.kochara, AnDReJ98, Arejai, GTAIndonesia, ItsAllAboutGTA, KaRzY6, SatournFan, ThaBoY and -S-hark21. Hope the best from this project
For DYOM : Support, the MRT goes to... Community Survey by KaRzY6. You could check this thread here. I think this is not classified as "Must read", it's "Must answer". Though this thread is similiar with "DYOM Survey" made by mati awhile ago, there are addition of several questions there. You could read it to measure your successful in DYOM world, and also, to make you improve if some users mark you as "the bad side". So far, there are 70 questions available in this questionare, made by KaRzY6, john12, shiva s and abishai.kochara. Be sure to check this thread out and don't forget to fill the questionare
That's it for the MRT for Issues #7. Stay tuned for the next MRT in Issues #8 !
by alifjenius | Walking Through Missions
Hello everyone, this is KaRzY6 with another mission walkthrough. Today I'm going to play LSPD Stories designed by Junior123456789.
Link - http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=489226
Life In Los Santos The mission starts with 2 introduction cutscenes. Then it shows the protagonist, Mike Harrison. He's starting in the park accross from the Los Santos Police Department(L.S.P.D). Mike's friend, Trent walks over to Mike and asks him if he wants to go do something. Meanwhile, at a store down the road, some vago gangsters want to rob it. Mike and Trent pull up at the store in a red 'Buffalo'. They enter the store, to find the vagos robbing the place. You kill 3 of the members but one gets away. The 4th member gets out of the store enters a yellow vehicle. Mike and Trent chase after he and kill him. After you kill him, take Trent back to the Police Station. * Mission Passed*
War-House Mike is in the Police Station and another officer, Lawarance, has a job for Mike. Mike has to go kill some vagos. Lawarance then leaves and Mike has to grab his 'stuff'. Then goes to the garage and gets in the Police car. Mike has to go to a warehouse at the bottom of town (The place in the mission 'Grey Imports', Near Ocean Docks). When he gets there, the entrance is lockes, but Mike knows another way in. Once he gets in, he kills all the vagos there. And he destroys a drug van (I think ???). *Mission Passed*
by KaRzY6 | An Interview with Secronom President DYOM Magazine had an interview with Secronom President, a DYOM user which is the most helpful user in DYOM section in 2011. He is also the moderator of DYOM Official Website, which is the reward for being the most helpful person for DYOM community. This interview is done by KaRzY6, our specialist in interview. Here's the result of the interview
-When did you first start designing DYOM missions? On November 15, 2010.
-Why did you choose DYOM instead of other mission creator modifications? It's easier to use than the other ones requiring you to have .scm coding knowledge.
-Is there any difference between the first five missions and the last five missions that you made? I wouldn't say yes with the five last missions as one of them is a community project, three of them are simple beginnin missions, and the last one is a mission with three cutscenes. If I make an overall of all the other ones, I can say I improved.
-What are the things that made you improve in your missions? Nothing else but practice.
-Who, in your opinion, is the best and most creative DYOM designer? Jimmy_Leppard is the best and most creative guy I've seen yet.
-Which topic in the 'Mission and Support Forum' do you think is the most useful? Bug Report Topic V6.1 (made by PatrickW is first, followed by DYOM Designers' Struggles (made by Doublepulse).
-Who do you think should have won the DYOM awards and was not mentioned? What category do you think they should of won? Jimmy_Leppard should have won the Best Mission Designer award, in my opinion.
-What was your first published mission? The Last Stand is my first mission.
-What one of your mission-packs do you think was the best? The Story of Samuel Garret is, in my opinion.
-What do you think of all the new DYOM designers joining our small community in the last month or two? I don't know alot about them, but I hope they won't turn like TonyCJ. I hope they do great missions.
-Do you think the new members will improve our community? If they are not noobs, then yes.
-Any way the senior designers can help the newcomers? By helping them to improve what they lack. Improving their skills I mean. Beeing harsh will do nothing else than chase them away, not pointing at anybody... eh...
- How does it feel to be voted the 'most helpful' in DYOM? I never was voted as most helpful in anything. It feels good to have some 'recognition'.
- Is good/bad to be a moderator of the DYOM website? It's good, even though I am the only one taking care of reports.
- Is being the moderator hard/easy? It's easy, even though I am the only one who takes care of the reports. Easier than I thought, I can add.
-Do you have any other comments to say about the interview or any messages to the DYOM Community? Trust the time we share.
by KaRzY6 | Opinions from DYOM Users This question is pretty old, because Arijesh, the one who lead the project, is already banned, three times
Will GTA III Reloaded make a huge success or a huge dissapointment if it lead by the new co-leader Arijesh ? Why ?
These are the opinions from various DYOM users :
| CODE | Notna : Arijesh seems to be a good leader, but because he is new, people are doubting about it. Rytuklis was well known and more experienced. I still think that it will work out good. |
| CODE | john12 : Well, actually he is well prepared. He has read the rules of the forum which I did afterwards. I like this guy |
| CODE | Nitesh aka AAAAAAA : To be honest, I doubted him as a leader at first because of the typical 'He is a newcomer' reason , but looking at the way things are going so far, I believe he can make the project a huge success. He has already shown that he has good leadership qualities and I am sure that these qualities will make him succeed. |
| CODE | alifjenius : Well, I doubt it if he could manage the project, because he's newcomer, coming from nowhere and suddenly take over the project without someone pointed him to be the leader. I don't know if this will be a huge failure, but it's more likely going to be a success based on the topic so far. I don't know anything about Arijesh's missions, though. I don't know if he already made a storyline which the project's going to be. So to packed this up, I doubt about the project's success. But still, it could be a huge success if the team put more effort on the project |
| CODE | Doublepulse : I honestly doubted him at first, like everyone else, we usually judge and doubt the new members at first, but honestly Arijesh has impressed me so far.
He is learning pretty fast on how to lead, I do see potential. He is doing a little better at leading that I might of. So far I say it is going to be successful if we continue at this rate.
In a team project.. not one person fails. If he fails.. we would fail too. It would only go bad if no one stepped up and decided to take lead of the project. In this case Arijesh took the lead. Alifjenius and Stuntzman also did their part by showing some concern and get everything active again.
Even if (hypothetically) Arijesh stepped down as a leader at any point, we still got others who can run the project.
So I think it is going very well right now! Arijesh has done great work with the tables and organization. So I give him props for that. |
| CODE | abishai.kochara : yes, arijesh is a good leader though his being newbie makes many doubt him...... |
Secronom President answer this after Arijesh was banned
| CODE | Secronom President : Well, he's banned. So much leadership now I presume? |

| QUOTE (AshleigghJaade.x) | | Why isn't SatournFan helping out? | Maybe, because no one requested something that I do? And I'm doing mission reviews...
Okay, now I see, but expect something huge from me for the next issue.

| QUOTE (shiva s @ Saturday, Jan 7 2012, 15:14) | | I don't wanna be interviewed but I like to say something about this interview . Why don't you ask new questions? | I have a list of basic questions. I ask everybody them. Depending on the user, I ask questions that apply to them. E.G. Secronom, I asked about being a moderator of the DYOM website. Was it good/bad, hard/easy. Stuff like that. But, I do see your point, I will start doing some more questions
