[JUMP TO CONTENTS]DYOM Video Reviews with Commentary DYOM video review with commentaries was started by Doublepulse. Here's the link to the topic: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=469348
The topic was started on Thursday, Feb 10 2011, 04:13. The reviewers do commentaries as they are playing the missions, giving their opinions and reactions as they play the missions. The commentators as of now consists of: Doublepulse, AznKei, LeonCJ, Alifjenius, SatournFan and KaRzY6.
The topic works the same way as AznKei's mission review topic. You can request a commentary and one of the reviewers will do it for you. [JUMP TO CONTENTS]Interview with Mati DYOM Magazine had an interview with Mati. The interview was taken before he announced his return to DYOM. Below you can find the questions asked and the answers given by Mati. - How and when did you find out about Dyom? It was a long time ago, I heard of it since the first DYOM version was released. I was still a guest on GTAF, mostly browsed things for GTA IV. I still remembered my PS2 GTA San Andreas though. I missed thaT game a lot even with my new X360. When I read about this mod, I ''bought'' SA just so I can play it. - Why did you feel that you want to download Dyom? Because it was just awesome. That's like the only tHing I ever missed in GTA. San Andreas has so many places that have never been used and it could have shown thousands more ways to let the players be creative. And that's exactly what DYOM gave to me. - When you started using Dyom, was it like the way you had imagined it before you downloaded it? It was even better than I ever could imagine. I was expecting something much more complicated, but everyone can learn to DYOM in one day, eventually after watchIng a tutorial or two. There were all those options, all those possibilities. It just seemed endless. Plus there's a great community. There's some bitching around here and there and I wish DYOM had a few more mature players but still, overall you guys are awesome. But some posts made my head hurt, to be honest. - Which is your first published mission? [Link] Lawl, doN't know why its in the dumping grounds though. - Is there any difference between the first five missions and the last five missions that you made? Of course. Well, a bit. My first real mission pack that contained nothing but 3 missions was already a huge improvement from ''Denise Revenge'' and it even gained a few fans. I wanTed to make a sequel but you know how sh*tty it feels when you loose a 107 objective mission. My last 5 missions were not my best to be honest. My best mission packs were probably ''The Don and his Gun'' and ''Forelli Brothers BUYSAG''. In the end, I did nothing but drop mission packs. - What are the things that made you improve in your missions? What made me improve? Maybe sound weird but myself. When I started a mission pack, I did a lot of research about its subject. This made me develop the story even better. I'm a concept thread writer as well so the story is very important to me, even more important than the gameplay of my missions. Not saying that the gameplay was bad, I had a few unique ideas in the past that combined both a great story and gameplay. Haha, I remember that crazy idea I had in ''Survival of the Fittest'' what involved moWing the grass, lol. - Why did you retire as a Dyom Designer? I didn't want to disappoInt anyone anymore. - You said you retired because you didn't want to disappoint us. Why did you think that you were disappointing us? Dropping my mission packs and such. Some of my missions simply sucked and I didn't want to publish that sh*t. - Do you still visit the Dyom Section? Not that often. There's a slight chanCe that I do - Who is the best designer in your opinion? Jimmy_Leppard. Quality and quantity combinEd. Honorable mentions are jetjatin, leoncj and Donfedrizzi. - Why do you choose Jimmy_Leppard as the best designer? He often has the most interesting mission packs instead of the usual stuff. - Who else do you think should have won the Dyom awards and in what category? Jimmy_Leppard. In my opinion, if Jimmy didn't get an award, nobody else deserved it. - What inspired you to make the Dyom Weekly? Most definitely the Multiplay Monitor. It's obvious why.. - What can you say about the recent explosion of newcomers in the DYOM section? It's good I think, although I still miss some more mature players instead of noobs. - Any way the senior designers can help them? They're always helpful to new members with designing tips and problem fixing, but the best way to help them is not to say ''omg tonycj is back''. - Any message you want to pass to them? Don't give up after reading one negative comment. - Any last words you want to say for the interview? Yeah, it was fun to answer these questions. [JUMP TO CONTENTS] Mission Walkthrough: gangster chaseHi everyone, this is KaRzY6 here doing a mission walkthrough. Today i'm playing a mission called gangster chase, which was created by Sydcul Link - http://dyom.gtagames.nl/?act=show&id=15489 You start at the National Guards Depot in Oceans Dock, Los Santos. You play as a army soldier, and need to get to Area 69. There is a parachute (not needed) and a helicopter provided. When you get there, you go into the base underground and jump in a thug. Then you drive around the base, then there's a cutscene with army officers saying your a Russian. So you have to kill them, and a army officer with a minigun comes. Get him with a head shot before you get shot. Then you get 6 stars, so run around the base by following the checkpoints, then the mission is complete. Hope you enjoyed my mission walkthrough, next one in issue 4 of the DYOM Magazine.[JUMP TO CONTENTS]Magazine UpdatesThere are going to be some new sections that will be added to the Magazine. These include the links to the reviews as said before. The future additions will also feature recently completed missions, some news about the successful mission packs and also a single trivia question related to DYOM. The Magazine will also feature some of the tricks and tutorials so that none of the old tutorials becomes forgotten. [JUMP TO CONTENTS]Written by1. DYOM Mission reviews by Nitesh2. | QUOTE (COOLMAN12234555896 @ Nov 19 2011, 17:45) | | Another great issue. I was expecting some videos or images, but this looks good too. |
In the next issues, there will be more of these. This issue mainly consisted of the review topics so there were no videos or images. | QUOTE (guib @ Nov 19 2011, 17:53) | | Funny how mati's interview has a secret message: Think Twice |
I guess he expected this issue to be released before his surprise return, but he made his announcement before it came out. | QUOTE (SatournFan @ Nov 20 2011, 02:39) | Great issue, guys! You're working cool in the team.
Maybe, in next issue you can interview me? |
KaRzY6 will take your interview | QUOTE (john12 @ Nov 20 2011, 03:10) | Yup, great issue. I guss this topic must be pinned. |
I don't know about this. But it always remains on the first page and its almost always on the top, as there are not many topics which are made in this sub-forum.
