Hello everyone. I just started learning Flash and wanted to know something that's incredible easy, but hard for a beginner.

I'm making a navigation bar, and I just need someone to explain, or point me in the right direction for what I am trying to accomplish. Basically...



I'm trying to get 2 bars to span from the middle on the top and bottom of each main link.

Any ideas? A tutorial would be amazing, but I don't actually know what I'm looking for, so google isn't really useful at this point.

Don't bother using flash. There is a similar way you could do it in CSS, but it won't be exactly the same. Check out web animations using CSS3.

The only problem with CSS3 is a lot of people will not be running browsers that can handle it.

From looking at the stats from websites I run, the majority of people are running out of date browsers. Its a complete pain in the arse cause CSS3 can do some stuff I could really use, but the sites would look sh*t for folk who cant see CSS3 stuff.

Using Flash, or even a pic of the menu item which changes to an animated gif of the items (controlled by older CSS) would work for everyone.

I would actully say flash as modern websites use flash a lot so it is a good think to learn. Though keep an eye on CSS3
