Damn; this is quite a shock. Although I never spoke to him personally he posted frequently in the Tech/PC section and he was clearly a good guy. RIP Chris.

GTA3Freak-2001 was one of the mods I always managed to get along with my first couple years here when most mods looked for a way to get rid of me (PGC days were something else, no hurt feelings). I am shocked to hear he was suffering from Duchenne's the entire time. Terrible way to have to live your life, but it appears he really enjoyed being here and at the end of the day, I think that's what this place is for a lot of us. We don't mind putting in the time to show up, there's a payoff here for all of us. Such a sad, sad shame.

Oh. Okay. This was unexpected. I liked him a lot as a moderator and as a person around the forums, seemed to be a nice guy and knowledgable in GTA. This is a huge loss for the forums, rest in peace.

I thought that it was added by an admin. It's only more saddening if he actually added that himself.

He was actually one of the more memorable members here, I remember seeing posts from him as far back as 2008. I didn't know him personally but it is sad as he was young and all. At least he stuck around on these forums, unlike others (me included) who didn't last much as members.

Saw the topic this morning same as Tim. Total and utter shock. Hugely respected Chris ever since I joined, whilst I didn't get to know him too well over the years (blame time zones and inactivity spells) those times I did converse with him he was a real likeable guy. As people have already said, 27 is no age at all to die. Hope you're doing better now buddy, wherever you are. Huge condolences to friends and family, to have such a great guy taken from you so early..there's no adequate words to say.

Not that I know him all too well personally, but from what I have seen of him on these forums from time to time, I know of his contributions and dedication to these forums, of which are unparalleled. He seemed very approachable and sociable with members here. He will be deeply missed by many, and my thoughts go out to his friends (on and off the forums) and his family.

When I was trying hard to fit in here ages ago, he was a great guy to chat with and never once treated me like some kind of noob.

He always stood out to me as one of the forum's kindest members. I don't know much about DMD, but I can imagine that it would be hell to live with. To maintain that spirit through so much physical difficukty - that's an inspiration.

I think we can all agree that FREAKS input and impact on the forums was of great magnitude and he will be sorely missed around these parts. A 2001 member, Moderator and all round ambassador for all things GtaNet.

Our hearts more importantly go out the the mother and brother of Chris who have had to endure such an horrific ordeal. An ordeal that noone should have to go through yet alone a 27 year old young man with the best part of his life ahead of him.

Haven't spoke to him in a while during my time away from this place but I'm posting this with a heavy heart.
