When Romania made it to the World Cup quarter finals back in '94. The group stage was easy, finishing first out four with Switzerland, the US and Colombia. But then came the knockout stage, where we had to face Argentina. Brilliant 3-2 victory thanks to Dumitrescu and Hagi.

So we advance to the quarter finals, facing Sweden. Big disappointment. We tied 2-2 and Sweden won 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out. In spite of these events, the whole country was really proud of our team's performance at the '94 World Cup. Beating Argentina in it's prime is kind of a big deal. Of course, now Romania pretty much sucks. We weren't able to qualify to the 2010 World Cup, to Euro 2012.. Even though we had some star players like Mutu and Chivu, both starters for Fiorentina and Inter Milan at that point. Oh well..

Well not my favourite moment of course but Manchester City's last minute title win left me in a state of absolute devastation, especially as I was gearing up for title celebrations just moments earlier. Surreal.
