If you were a manager and you had the choice of any player from any league, who would you pick?

State reasons why you picked the members of your squad if you want.

Here's mine:

GK - Asmir Begovic

DEF - Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany, Nemanja Vidic, Branislav Ivanovic

MID - Antonio Di Natale, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri

FOR - Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero

Subject to change... rolleyes.gif

I was finding it hard to pick a team with the amount of choice you have and I know there are better players than the ones i've selected. I chose players which I like at the moment and that I think would have a good team chemistary. Choose your team however you wish...

Close this topic if there is one similar but I couldn't find it.

Antonio Di Natale, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas

[...] team chemistry [...]

I don't understand exactly how that team has a much of a team chemistry at all. Having 2-3 players from the same team and the rest from 5,000 km away ain't really chemistry if you ask me.

I could submit my squad, but it will take some time to think over it, but anyway it will probably be evenly distributed across World Football.

Well, this is obviously a dream scenario. In that case, you can throw chemistry out the window.

My team is bias in the fact that i'm a massive premier league fan but this isn't meant to be taken that seriously.

You never really know if a fantasy team would have good team chemistary unless you pick 2 players from a team that you know work well together, I did this for Nasri/Fabregas/Aguero/Kompany/Vidic/Ivanovic/Gerrard/Rooney (including national and ex-clubs) but you dont know if they will work well with the other players. The only problem I see with my team is lack of strength in midfield, not alot of pace from the defense (apart from Richards) and I was very undecisive about my goalkeeper. I went with Begovic because he looks in real form at the moment. His performance last weekend was incredible. Anyway, like I said, I could have picked lots of others players but these are the ones I chose because I like their playing styles.

This is based only on players that I've seen live:

-----------------------------------Joe Hart------------------------------------

-Seamus Coleman----Gary Cahill----Alex Baptiste----Leighton Baines-

----------------Barry Bannan----------------David Vaughan---------------

--------------------------------Charlie Adam--------------------------------

----DJ Campbell-------------------------------------------Ola Toivonen---

--------------------------------Kevin Phillips--------------------------------

Obviously not the world's strongest line up, but I think this team would do fairly well in the prem at least.

Given how many are current or ex-United, current Barca or Spanish, I'd say they'd have great "chemistry" too tounge.gif

QUOTE (chris @ Monday, Sep 12 2011, 13:18)
but is he worth a shot in my manager mode on fifa or what?

One word: Yes!

I've been playing as Dortmund for about 4 or 5 seasons now - even on Fifa, the Bundesliga is a very open competition and a lot of fun to play. Gotze, however, is pretty poor on it. Of course, he's a fantastic player in real life, but Fifa hasn't really captured his brilliance, at least not on my game. In my 4 or 5 seasons in charge, he hasn't improved a notch on his 70 rating despite being played quite a bit in the startin XI. I've dropped him since. Bender has recently came into his own though - took a while but he's came good.

Anyway, to go on topic, I'll pick my starting XI from Newcastle players in my lifet time with a bog-standard 4-4-2 formation...

GK:
Shay Given
DEF:
Warren Barton, Philippe Albert, Jonathan Woodgate (fully fit in '03/'04ish, of course), Didier Domi
MID:
David Ginola, Peter Beardsley, Temuri Ketsbaia, Rob Lee
ATT:
Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand

Other contenders would be: Srnicek and Krul in goal, Dabizas, Robbie Elliott and Darren Peacock in defence, Dyer in midefield and Bellamy in attack.

Highlights of the team would easily be Shearer and Beardsley. Christ, I f*cking love Newcastle.

EDIT: Also, how could I forget Gary Speed!?
2nd EDIT: And Tiote!?

You're right, Götze is poor on FIFA 11, but he'll be fantastic in FIFA 12 wink.gif

Nice topic! I love these types of scenarios. Thought long and hard about getting Giorgio Chiellini in here, but I think my two central defenders would make a killer tandem. I tried to find room for Tevez, Sneijder, and Ashley Cole, but this squad is pretty nice as is.

---------------Buffon--------------

Maicon - Vidic - Pepe - Marcelo

Schweinsteiger - Essien - Pirlo---

-------------Messi -- Ozil ----------

---------------Ronaldo-------------

As long as we're putting together dream teams, how about all-time starting XI? Came down to Cafu or Thuram at RB and I hated leaving out Gerrard and Ballack, but here's mine..

------------------Buffon----------------

Thuram - Cannavaro - Nesta - Carlos

---Makelele-----Vieira-----Zidane------

-----------------Baggio-----------------

-----------Ronaldo---Henry-----------

And that's the Brazilian Ronaldo for the record. Can you tell I've only been a fan of the sport since 2006? lol.gif

Instead of making up a team i'll put my starting 11 Fifa 11 squad, i'm in the 2019 season on Career Mode with Everton and we win bloody everything so i think this team would do well IRL. I'll also put the player overall stats like on fifa.

GK - Igor Akinfeev - 87

LB - Ali Cissokho - 86
CB - Mats Hummels - 86
CB - Diego Godin - 82
RB - Santon - 82

LM - Ganso - 86
CM - Marouanne Fellaini - 86
RM - Diego Ribas Cunha - 85

RW - Alexis Sanchez - 84
ST - Romelu Lukaku - 76 (i've had him since season 1 and he has gone up 2 growth points sad.gif)
LW - Ashley Young - 85

Based on the initial performances of this season, I will pick who I think would be the best XI with subs.

GK - Joe Hart

RB - Kyle Walker
CB - Kompany
CB - Chiellini
LB - Clichy

RM - Lennon
CM - Modric
CM - Parker
LM - Bale

ST - Messi
ST - Ronaldo

Bench:
GK - Schwarzer
CB - King
CM - Yaya You're
CAM - David Silva
ST - Neymar

Possibly the best squad in the world?
