 componentpeds.img problems

I accidently deleted my componentpeds.img today and I know I should have a backup but I don't. I really can't be bothered with re-installing the game so I am thinking of just copying the componentpeds.img from TBoGT or TLAD to the original GTA IV, will this work?

Have you considered trying an un-delete type program to recover the file? If you're lucky, the file may still be sitting intact on the drive (no clusters overwritten) and an undeleter should be able to tell you if it's good or not...
