This is another error in III Era because if Maria gets killed in The Chaperone (GTAIII) the game tells you something like you let die Salvatore's daughter

The message reads:

"Maria's dead! Salvatore won't be too pleased..."

It doesn't say wife OR daughter...and you get that same message regardless of how she was killed (or at what point in the mission).

I thought before that Maria is his doughter because she's much younger than him. But probbably she is his wife, I don't know...

When sal introuduces her he says "ur gunna look after my girl for the evening"

which could have meant both wife, gf or daughter, at the time I thought daughter

As leper73 said, Maria is Sal's wife. To add on to that, during Contra-Banned, Salvatore explicitly said he married Maria.

@ Arsen Vitiuk, did you check Grand Theft Wiki at all? Salvatore's page properly cited the source of that information. If you notice major inaccuracies, please do tell on Grand Theft Wiki. It would be a big help to both the reader and the GTA community if you bring these issues up.

Ah guys. Maria is the step wife of Salvatore. He married to her when he lost his first wife. So Joey has a step mother.

I always got the impression that she was just his girlfriend, but I haven't played LCS yet (completed III this afternoon as it happens) so I'm not completely sure.

I'm pretty sure that Maria is his wife, and she married him for the money. She doesn't really give a damn about their marraige at all though. In LCS, she tries to get with Tony when they're at her appartment (the fact that she has her own appartment shows she doesn't care about their marraige), and Tony pushes her away and says something like "I can't be with you Maria, you're my bosses girl" (haven't played it in a while now). Then in GTA III, part of the reason why they fled on the boat with Maria's friend is because Maria told Salvatore 'they had a thing'.
-This is just my ideas and oppinions though.

I also have two questions disregarding Maria and Salvatore; Why is Tony fat in III but not in LCS? I figure part of the reason may be due to the fact that playing with a fat man probably didn't seem right in the series, though he was a good choice for the protagonist. And the second, was LCS set before or after III?

Technically Sal Has Had A Previous Wife As Well Mentioned in "Sal's Called a Meeting",
He Had Two Wives, Joey's Mom and Maria.

I'm guessing Rockstar wanted to change him somehow as he became the protagonist. It's very possible that you are on to something when you say he was on the larger side in GTA III. In Liberty City Stories though, his Ma is always nagging on him that he is so thin and that he hasn't been eating properly while he was away from town which could explain why he is larger in GTA III.

Liberty City Stories is set in 1998, GTA III is set in 2001.
