I don't really want that, if they put out good content i will watch the advertisement if it earns them money. |
The way YouTube and their partners (channels) earn revenue is from ad clicks. Companies or whatever buy a certain amount of clicks for their ads. YouTube is paid by companies. Now partner channels, they have the option to monetize, that is to earn revenue from ads created by YouTube\Google which are paid for by companies.
If you don't intend to click on these ads, disabling them will not make a difference. They only earn money if the ad is clicked.
I personally have never ever clicked an ad on a video. |
I am not so sure it is just clicks anymore, possibly just for the pop ups that you can "X" out of, but the tv commercial-like advertisements even if you don't click them will probably embed themselves in your head and familiarise yourself with the brand so subconsciously you choose it over another brand, television advertising isn't pay per click, and people pay a lot of money for it. |
I didn't think about those ads. You are most likely right about that, because they are so similar to TV commercials.
In all honesty however, I don't really care. It's not like one person (you) will make them a "fortune" from advertising. It's an insignificant sum.
@NateShaw92 Not all videos feature the same ads. Those video ads are rarer than the normal image ads. Even if that price is right, not even half of those views will contain an ad like that, I don't think so. Most of the ads are the kind where you have to click on them and most people don't click on them. | This is what youtube pays to it's partners:
As a member of the Youtube partners program, they typically pay 1/3 cents to 1 cent per view. As you get more consistant viewers, they pay a higher percentage. Some of these posters can make a very significant income off their videos.
For example, a video with 1,000,000 views x .0033 = $3300. This is the minimum you will make if you're a yourtube parter.
Youtube's payout schedule: $ 0.0033/1 view $ 3/1,000 view $33/ 10,000 views $330/ 100,000 views $3300/ 1,000,000 views
They start paying you only after the millionth view, and only if youre a YouTube partner
| QUOTE (Google) | | There are no guarantees under the YouTube partner agreement about how much, or whether, you will be paid. Earnings are generated based on a share of advertising revenue generated when people view your video - the more views you get, the more money you'll make. Please review the agreement for more details |
