Hi, I am new here and also new in modding 3d things for GTA IV, i did some police textures but only templates and also mountain and desert textures. All map mod i saw and i tested are very good it breakes the fact that you're in a big city, in fact i feel like lot of people, LC needs green aera and huge desert mod. I decided to create a new topic because i need help and modding is mostly a result of a team work. As i said, i find quechus mountain really impressive so awesome and also his lake its a good place to stunt. So i decided to download a free 3d software and make some desert map as you can see below.   I put texture on it and it looks very cool, i mean i imagine myself making big jumps or big desert rally online  I would like to add an oasis with some palms... So i know that you have to use 3ds to make it playable on GTA IV because tools were developped for 3ds max... For this mod, I need somebody who have 3ds max and all the tools in order to convert this map into IV, with WINGS 3D i can give to you .3ds and .obj files. So if somebody from everywhere can join me for this little map mod (i mean huge) so you're welcome, I saw on youtube that the convertion for somebody who has already convert some map mod is about 15mn but i know that it could have bugs and other things that were not expected. Hi All, I saw a tutorial about this pointed sand dune, very nice, but am a beginner in 3D, like a baby with a tricycle, i need support to run this way  here the size of this desert map in liberty city empty aera  there is a road, sand road for rally and a big stunt aera with a little oasis with some palmtrees, i will try to make some arabic houses in sketchup if its possible. here is an other view (sorry for texturing, it looks so easy to do in tutorials but for me it's a problem, sorry for that)  I hope this map will be shared soon

Hi Guys, Thanks for those who tryn helpin me in modding custom maps for IV... THX So, I use MAX 2010 and GIMS and also shadow script. First, i've created my map (very simple, i put the texture on and also created dummies) This is just an example, the project is a desert IV with 3 or 4 maps that will make it very big  Then I've made the schema as some good guys explained to me  So iv'e created a new folder...  ... tried to creat IDE and WPL files but here it bugs, am sorry if for some of you its easy but i am a beginner in this, i tried so many times until today, i know that i miss something or a step but i cannot guess by myself as a beginner in 3D, I use ide instance and wpl properties   And when i try to export ....  I think also I dont know how to make the "sand effect" to the map because when i choose materials, i can put textures but if i try to make GTAIV effect the texture disapear. So your help is welcome, this is a long time we have not big maps on IV an lot of locations are availiable, Thx for readin and helpin

hi, am always in progress about my first map but i find an error  its about when i export obd for collision i select "single composit" and my 10 parts of my map, after this i export but it bugs at the end because there's a long time between the begining and the end of this coll convertion =====Scene check===== =====Scene check end===== -- Error occurred in m_obn.pressed(); filename: C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\scripts\startup\GIMS\17_GIMS_GUI.mse; position: 27805 -- Defined in encrypted script >> MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception: -- Unknown system exception << what is about ???
