| QUOTE | Activision will be releasing details regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's DLC as well as the pricing structure for Call of Duty: Elite within the next few months.
Speaking in the Modern Warfare 3 presentation at E3 Activision Product Director, Noah Heller said the following to a response about Call of Duty: Elite's pricing structure.
"The only reason I cant get deep into that is because we want to come back in a month or two, show what the MW3 DLC content is and then put a price on everything,"
"Our benchmark though is other online services and we want to be cheaper. We want to be especially cheaper or comparable when you see the map pack value adding up to the total value of the subscription." | Posted in the old topic, but so much sh*t going on that it just went unnoticed.
On the subject of Akimbo shotguns, I didn't mind them that much. I never use Akimbo, but what's the difference between Akimbo 1887 and the AA-12? Both require short distance between you and the enemy anyway, and both give you around the same amount of firepower, only the AA-12 has a stupid amount of recoil on it.
I'm happy that they are bringing back the UMP45, which would have been a big mistake had they not brought it back. I remember reading somewhere that the UMP45 is the number one used weapon in MP on MW2. I myself use it quite alot...it's only slightly tricky to use if you have a high aim amount on, such as 7-10, due to how light the gun is...but is great for when enemies run past you and you quickly have to fire and turn.
I hope the Javelin makes a return aswell. Alot of people found it to be annoying and wanted it gone, but in my view that was a fun weapon, and great at getting rid of camping groups.

| QUOTE (AreXi @ Thursday, Jun 9 2011, 12:08) | | QUOTE (vertical limit @ Thursday, Jun 9 2011, 14:05) | I agree, I used it a lot myself.
Though isn't the javelin aircraft lock only? |
Nah, you could lock on aircraft, but you could also use it to shoot ground aswell. You couldn't lock on infantry, tho. | Javelin was great on maps such Wasteland, where you could just flank the enemy and fire it at the side of the bunker they're trying to all enter. It's a shame I wasn't high enough level when the Javelin hack was on MW2 a few weeks ago.
Anyway, my view on what I quoted is that it's good in a way, but I can see alot of people been angered by the fact that the DLC is already ready, yet won't include it in the purchase. They could have even added a £5 on the price of the game and release a special edition of the game.

Overall game aspects
- The game will be developed by Infinity Ward, co-developped by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision
- The game will launch worldwide on November 8th, 2011 and will be available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
- MW3 will be, just like MW2, locked at 60 FPS meaning it will never go below (but can of course still go over)
- MW3 will run on an improved version of IW 4.0 (Engine used for MW2) According to IW, console equality is very important *cough* not referring to Black Ops running like sh*t on PS3 and PC *cough*
Campaign
- MW3 is a direct sequel to MW2
- MW3 takes place during WWIII.
-Confirmed locations are New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Russia, Africa and the Himalayas
-There is no Co-op
- Known characters : Derek "Frost" Westwood, "Sandman", Michael Burns, John "Soap" MacTavish, Nikolai, John Price and Vladimir
-Confirmed playable characters : Derek "Frost" Westwood and Michael Burns
-Known Campaign missions are : "Black Tuesday", "Mind the Gap" and "Hunter Killer".
-Known factions are : American "Delta Force", British SAS, French GIGN and possibly American Navy SEALs
-Black Tuesday : This level is played by Delta Force operators. It takes place at the New York City Stock Exchange. The title is a reference to the Wall Street Crash of 1929. You basically fight your way to the NY Stock Exchange, and plant a Thermite Charge on some sort of satellite located on the roof. The level ends with an epic gunship battle where you take control of the minigun mounted on a Black Hawk.
Hunter Killer : In this level, the player takes control of Derek "Frost" Westwood, as he and his squad infiltrates a Russian submarine to launch the Russian missiles against their own fleet. After escaping the submarine, Frost hops in a Zodiac watercraft and escapes the area as it is being bombed and ends up landing in a friendly Chinook, taking them away from the killzone.
Mind the Gap : In this level, the player takes control of Michael Burns, an SAS Commando. This mission takes place during nighttime in London. The player approaches enemies using stealth. Not much is known about this level, except that it ends in an epic chase in the London tube system between an underground train and a car. Civilians are also killed during this level (This is the "ultra-violent" mission of he level that has been spoken of). The level's title is a reference to the warning made to train passengers to make them aware of the gap between the ground and the actual train.
Spec Ops
- Spec Ops are divided in 2 main parts : Survival and Mission
- Spec Ops now has leaderboards, online matchmaking, progressive ranking and in-game currency
- Survival is a horde-like gamemode where the objective is to survive as long as you can to limitless waves of increasingly difficult enemies.
- Mission-based Spec Ops will return and will be similar the Spec Ops seen in MW2
- Juggernauts are returning.
- In Survival, you start off with a pistol.
- Survival mode features multiple stations from where you can refill ammo, buy weapons, buy equipment and acquire killstreaks, such as a Reaper Drone or a Sentry gun. Early waves send regular enemies, but later ones include dogs, gas soldiers, C4 soldiers, explosive dogs, choppers and...(drum roll) juggernauts.
Multiplayer
- Call of Duty Elite System with some paid aspects to enhance the Multiplayer experience.
- Weapon base damages will be increased to compensate the lack of Stopping Power
- Security is a top priority for IW
- Soundwhoring will not be overlooked
- Post-launch updates is a priority for IW
- Balancing explosives is a key design point
- Theater Mode will very likely return
- MW3 will build up from CoD4 and polish every aspect from MW2 that "has went too far".
