My Top five favourite bands at the moment are:

1. Metallica - they have always really been my favourite band. They, in my opinion, haven't really released an album that is particularly "sh*t", though ReLoad and Load kind of have their 'meh' moments and St Anger also for obvious reasons, but that album does have some good songs on it! My favourite albums of theirs would be Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning and ...And Justice For All. Death Magnetic sort of see's a "return to form" for the band.

My Recommendations:
Metal Militia - http://youtu.be/a6bfICjPNbg
Ride The Lightning - http://youtu.be/YT516h7QwA4
For Whom The Bell Tolls - http://youtu.be/bg92QpjRcJk
Fade to Black - http://youtu.be/3_Q4rfPRUsQ
Trapped Under Ice - http://youtu.be/yAxwr3ygP3s
The Thing That Should Not Be - http://youtu.be/6XyEZEXjq6U
Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - http://youtu.be/WElvEZj0Ltw
Master of Puppets - http://youtu.be/_z-hEyVQDRA
Blackened - http://youtu.be/AokV0-zXRTE
One - http://youtu.be/sXPkmIwwobA
To Live Is To Die - http://youtu.be/2WdYt9VkVek
Shoot Me Again - http://youtu.be/yUSEJ0KO4DA
All Nightmare Long - http://youtu.be/SeE1Y8S6jVc

2. Iron Maiden - Kind of went on a similar path to Metallica; they started out fantastically, when Dickinson left the band, their music became rather average and when he came back into the band; they became reasonably good again. This is definitely a band that relies on it's distinctive vocalist more then anything, but of course the guitar work is also awesome.

My Recommendations:
Invaders - http://youtu.be/63gdZAsl62E
Fight of Icarus - http://youtu.be/yWp7qrqGlXc
2 Minutes to Midnight - http://youtu.be/L75ikjK1vaI
Aces High - http://youtu.be/f0Hm79q4M-U
The Wicker Man - http://youtu.be/OTv3pgxjXiw
The Nomad - http://youtu.be/qiiEz_UWvyA
The Final Frontier - http://youtu.be/kSQVU5V1-No
El Dorado - http://youtu.be/coBzy-tPdws

3. Dio - Sort of following a similar theme (and style) from the above. Ronnie James Dio was a fantastic singer and their first two albums, Holy Diver and The Last in Line, where fantastic. Lock Up The Wolves was also not a bad album. The whole band seem to come together in terms of experience levels in their instruments as the guitars and drums seem to tie in well with their vocals.

My Recommendations:
Straight Through The Heat - http://youtu.be/_zaVvH2oyQo
Holy Diver - http://youtu.be/vCpRrLIVyGc
Caught In The Middle - http://youtu.be/W-W1j2NKtgY
Rainbow In The Dark - http://youtu.be/tYlDltwm-JY
The Last in Line - http://youtu.be/GB7oKkFJDSg

4. Disturbed - OK, I know some of you are going to go off at me for this one, saying that the vocals never "change tone" and what not; but if you are judging this based on The Sickness, then you are judging them off the wrong album. It is like judging Metallica purely on ReLoad. Disturbed's style, particularly from Believe, Indestructible and Ten Thousand Fists, is fantastic as overall singing style is unique in itself; the guitar work can be rather technical in certain songs and they don't overuse the cymbals unlike some bands, past and present.

My Recommendations:
Ten Thousand Fists - http://youtu.be/ZVinwOpllQk
Stricken - http://youtu.be/3moLkjvhEu0
Indestructible - http://youtu.be/aWxBrI0g1kE
Perfect Insanity - http://youtu.be/6xlqXHnb2YA
Awaken - http://youtu.be/iHvrVa5swJ0
Believe - http://youtu.be/XYdP3mW6Il4

5. Cellador - A band that I HIGHLY recommend listening to! Think of the sound of a mixture of the early thrash bands, such as Testament, Exodus and Destruction, and that of the style of Dio and Iron Maiden, and these guys is what you get. The vocals are what stands out first in this band - that, and their musical style and technicality. They have only released one studio album thus far; Enter Deception, but MAN! They are fantastic!

My Recommendations:
Never Again - http://youtu.be/_NM0-AdwG9Y
Wakening - http://youtu.be/-5vhZPMs4Pg
Leaving All Behind - http://youtu.be/lljZW4otn1s

Honourable Mentions:
Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Rammstein, Destruction, Overkill, AC/DC, Overkill, Slayer, Shadows Fall (Not to be confused with Senses Fail), Pantera, Nirvana, Machine Head, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Hunters and Collectors, DragonForce and Systematic.

So, what?
They're just good. I like rock music. The lyrics is deep, their song is just banging on my head, and i just love them.
Not agree with my opinion, deal with it.

My fave band is Nickleback, so what yours

Nickelback? Are you f*cking serious? I'm gonna let you justify yourself so please explain to me why the hell are they your favourite band? Thou shall not listen to Nickelback!

Opinion? dozingoff.gif

I have many to be honest. Foo Fighters, Oasis, Velvet Revolver, Guns N Roses (original line-up) AC/DC, Tupac and Eminem. I have more but I just can't of think them all at the moment. I'll add more later.

I don't get how you can listen to Tupac and Velvet Revolver at the same time. What daa... mercie_blink.gif

What a narrow-minded comment. What's wrong with listening to multiple genres? I probably listen to just about any music genre going so one minute it could be Rolling Stones, Who, G&R, RHCP, and then next minute it could be some Atmosphere, Eminem etc...

Thanks for that Butters and yeah you can listen to multiple genres. I listen to all sorts.

The Doors (all time best band ever), The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Iron Maiden, The Clash, The Misfits (early), Motorhead, Black Sabbath (Dio and Ozzy, but I can name more songs with Ozzy as lead singer), and some Queen is also good to pass the time.

EDIT: Sorry for the bump a year later. blush.gif

My favorite band would have to be 808 State. I first heard of them on GTA San Andreas, thank you R*! I have since come to love old techno and house music.

My 2nd and 3rd all-time favorite tunes are from them:

Great relaxing tune, perfect sounds\synths, I love the bassline at 2:15, brilliant:

This tune reminds me of train traveling and train stations, things that I am somewhat obsessed with for whatever reason:

I like a multitude of different bands and musicians. Queen, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Foxboro Hot Tubs, AWOLNATION, Cro, Green Day, Fun, Social Distortion, Metallica, Foster the People, Rage Against the Machine, Daft Punk, Purple Melon, and KISS.

Right now, I'm gonna have to go with Green Day as my favorite, though, out of all of them (if you couldn't already tell by my avatar & user title). American Idiot is like my bible. It's the holy grail of punk rock.

Well well well my music taste is well...let's just say very broad for a 15 year old guy. I guess my favorite singers are Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Meatloaf, Bruce Springsteen and Justin Bieber (Yes flame me all you want for the last one but i could not care less) Favorite Bands would have to be Genesis, The Beatles, Queen (Only a few songs) Guns and Roses and finally One Direction. Let me explain myself I myself absolutely despise modern music eg. All 21st century pop and dubstep. Justin Bieber and One Direction are perfect examples of artists that haven't been completely sucked into the techno and synthesizers and all that electronic crap AND THEIR SONGS ACTUALLY HAVE MEANING which is something loads of songs these days don'y have. Call me what you want but in the end...eh

Making music on computers and synthesizers can be just as difficult as making music on conventional instruments, however it is more accessible to people, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion.

Your post is absolutely ignorant, because you call all pop and dubstep music crap and I seriously doubt you've heard all of it.

Sorry, Nickelback are objectively bad.

No they're not.

Indeed what is wrong with Nickleback? If you're going to say that a band is rubbish at least give a reason.

What's "wrong" with any band who build their entire career on poorly rehashing utterly unoriginal ideas? I won't talk about it in terms of "good" or "bad", as they're loaded and suggest a degree of personal opinion, but Nickelback are utterly devoid of originality on every conceivable level. They are to, say, Alice In Chains, what Killswitch Engage's "The End of Heartache" is to In Flames' "The Jester Race"- an unfunny pastiche, completely formulaic and without even so much of a speck of the creativity or inventiveness that graced their chief influences.

please justify AIC's lack of creativity, they were the driving force behind the grunge movement of the nineties.

Judas Priest over Maiden any day, for me. I just found some analog to digital video I saved of Rob Halford talking about his job as singer of Priest and the art of Heavy Metal, this at the time of PAINKILLER, one of their best works in recent memory if not all time

Well, look to seeing that on YouTube soon! He's just such a Gentleman too, like Alice Cooper.

Favorite bands?

AC/DC: Don't think I've met an Australian that doesn't like them, including myself.
Avenged Sevenfold: Probably my favorite. Love the band, the lyrics with all their crazy metaphors plus catchy verses you remember for weeks and of course the songs!
Bullet for my Valentine: Quite enjoy the catchy riffs that get you headbanging.
Eminem: This guy is a boss, all the songs are so meaningful (bar a few 'slim shady' songs haha).
Foo Fighters: Probably like them only because Dave Grohl, who is basically Jesus of rock.
Green Day.
Kid Cudi: Just a good kid that smokes weed and wants to make a living, also he makes fairly good music!
Linkin Park: Love the mix of rap and hard rock in their music, don't really want to talk about their latest album though..
Metallica: Legends, have to many hits to count, hoping their new album is going to be good.
Nickleback. (joking of course) *
Slash: With Myles Kennedy these guys are indestructible, dem solos n riffs!
Slipknot: Not a fan of their heavier stuff, but I enjoy songs like 'Before I forget', 'Psychosocial' and 'Duality'. Way they went about Paul Greys death was BS though.
Steel Panther: If you haven't listened to their songs, do it.

Favorite singer?

Mathew Sanders, 'Matt Shadows' of Avenged Sevenfold. Sings all different styles so well, good entertainer and seems like a cool guy.
Brian Johnson, AC/DC. His voice fits the music so, so well.
Myles Kennedy. Doesn't sound as good live, but his voice on record is great.
