This could be awesome.

Blasphemer what do you mean "could be" IT WILL BE I demand it be awesome wink.gif

Sorry. You're right. What's this "could be" nonsense? I must not have been paying attention when I wrote that.

Just got the first look at the new website. This thing almost is too good to be true. Good to see Don Dumpster's wheeled bulldozer, "Gotcha!", and Screwie Lewie playing prominent rolls in the site's background.

Well I couldn't find my Carma 2 discs suicidal.gif but then I haven't seen them in years so I may not even have them any more. So on the off chance I had a look on steam to see if there was anything similar to Carmageddon ........ and there is. It is called "Clutch" and it has all the zombie splatting you could hope for :-

It is a tenner for UK users on steam (bit overpriced but what the hell) I took the plunge and bought it. It isn't too bad really quite enjoyable and definitely has that Carmageddon vibe. Anyway didn't mean to hijack the topic, just thought peeps might like to know that there is something else out there that will satiate their palette whilst we wait for 2012 to happen and either Carmageddon Reincarnation happens or the world ends.

You can find more info about Clutch here :-

I think I know where my discs of Carma I & II are although I have a feeling my copy of Carma I was the Peds replaced with Zombies censored edition. Although didn't the Splat Pack reverse this edit or was there some kind third party patch?, this is going back to the late 90's! Anyone know if they work in Win 7? I am stuck on my craptop so I am going through the golden oldies of PC games as they are all that will run!

While I haven't tested it with Windows 7, I had Carmageddon 1 working quite flawlessly about 2 years ago in Windows XP by using the Carma95 (Windows 95, DirectX version) which should be included on most discs. Otherwise, there's quite a few examples and instructions out there on how to get it working in DOSBox and even in DOSBox with Glide graphics.

In case no one realized yet the site has gone up:

www.carmageddon.com

The new game will be called Carmageddon: Reïncarnation and will be released somewhere in 2012. It's created by the creators of the only two good Carmageddon's, 1 & 2. Stainless will be in charge.

Hope to see you there.

Apologies for the bump, but I felt this information makes a year old bump justifiable. There is now a kickstarter campaign for Carmageddon :-

QUOTE (Carmageddon kickstarter campaign)
What Do I Get For My Hard-Earned Dollars?

We've planned Carmageddon: Reincarnation as an iterative development project. This means that if we just make it to the $400k target, we'll be able to deliver Release #1 in February 2013. Kickstarter backers of $15 and above will receive Release #1 plus all subsequent releases.

If we exceed the $400k target, it'll allow us to include even more content in the first release. And if we smash the target, it'll also allow us to greatly expand the scope of the game, and to roll it out across more and more platforms, with Kickstarter backers getting to select their delivery platform of choice: consoles, tablets, phones, Macs, toasters, vibrating pillows, bananas... errrr.....

.....anyway! The higher our budget, the more it accelerates the development of major game features and get them in the game sooner, and the greater the ultimate scope of the game's content and delivery platforms. Wahoo! We all win!

You can read more about the kickstart campaign here :-

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stainl...n-reincarnation

Never been a huge fan of these kickstart campaigns myself. But I have to admit I am extremely tempted by this.

I hope it's just as bloody and brutal as the original. I wish the best for this and hope it doesn't turn out like Duke Nukem.
