I blame the '00s, because I want to keep this trend going! My favorite characters are probably Tyrion, Stannis, and Jaime. Tyrion is very funny, Stannis seems really interesting and bad*ss, and Jaime seems like he has lots of potential on top of his already entertaining character. Jon Snow is a bumbling idiot, Dany acts like a 10 year old, and Robb can't stop thinking with his richard, so they're my least favorite. I only had one thing spoiled for me. And it was kind of ambiguous, on top of which it was my own damn fault. I was curious about a certain character with the same name of another character, so I went to "A Wiki of Ice and Fire", and saw something I shouldn't have, then quickly averted my eyes. It was about something that happened in A Storm of Swords, Robb Stark dying. But I didn't know it happened in that book or how it happend, I just knew that it happened, so I was still surprised. Yet less surprised than if I didn't read that.
I swore off any kind of Wiki or message board or anything on the internet concerning the books. This place doesn't count because it's about the show. Even if some of us are book readers.

holy sh*t! that is awesome. and hilarious. because that is literally (almost) exactly how I refer to the characters in the show. I'm so bad with their formal names. pretty much the only difference between that list and how I actually talk is when it comes to Cersei. I don't call her Bad Bitch, I've been calling her Queen Bitch. and for Jamie sometimes I alternative between "Cousin Lannister" ("cousin" for "incest") or just Kingslayer. otherwise those are basically all SPOT on. great find

Hopefully you just got the set four that have been on Amazon for the longest time, it is currently just over 20 US dollars. Of course, you might not be in the US, which sucks for this deal I'd say. Linky.Have any of you seen this on Amazon? How do you report stuff like this easily and simply, for this is at the least a misleading product (that amazon themselves are not selling of course). Supposedly all seven books of A Song of Ice and Fire.I have, to those who recognize my name, been away from the site for quite a bit and would just like to catch up a bit with how this topic has ran. Most notably, I would say that it is sightly unfair to constantly compare the books to the television series. Personally, as a struggling writer, I think it is better to analysis how the story has been adapted rather than just strictly saying it sucks because they didn't put this in the story and so forth (though those sorts of comments are fine as long as it doesn't go into uber geek fandom war mode). Next, I'm quite intrigued with how the next season will progress. It has been mentioned several times that A Storm of Swords will be split into two seasons, though I could imagine some of Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons may seep into those seasons (I haven't read the books in over a year so forgive if I cannot remember exactly when certain characters are brought into the fold). Book Spoilers follow. Personally, I believe that the Red Wedding will occur in the ninth episode (quite certain they will keep to 10 episode seasons) and the aftermath and "celebration" of that wedding will occur in the tenth episode with another wedding with another spectacular twist. The biggest reason I say this is because the ninth episode in the first two seasons were the big episodes with the tenth episode being mostly the fallout from what happened before.
Now, of course, each tenth episode had equally big things occur (birth of dragons = saving of dragons; march beyond the wall = battle beyond the wall [implied]), though not as big as the end of one of the most vile characters in the show and kind-of the first big hurrah for the "good" guys.
Additionally, it will be very interesting to see how the creators distance themselves from the books given the changes that have been made, most notable being the delay in the appearance of the Reeds and the rest of the Tully band.
Thoughts?
